SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS
As B. Pengally was injured and L. Deguara ill, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.
Race 1: Candy Rock 3yo & Up Maiden Plate
1st - Impetus/Crackle Dash 3rd - Hurricane 4th - Proximo
COOL DE BEERS (K. Pope) was hampered on jumping away between PROCEED TO WARN (P. Hammersley) and ORTELLO (S. Galloway), which shifted out.
FOXTROT GUN (K. Wharton) and GOOLASH (J. Bowditch) came together on jumping away.
MR DEEJAY (J. Taylor) was inclined to race ungenerously in the early stages.
FOXTROT GUN was forced to race wide throughout.
Approaching the 300m., THUNDER AND ICE (R. McMahon), which was disappointed for a run to the inside of PROCEED TO WARN where there was doubtful room, had to be steadied when tightened for room when PROCEED TO WARN shifted in.
Apprentice R. McMahon, rider of THUNDER AND ICE, was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out to the finish of a race.
Race 2: Quizas 3yo & Up Maiden H'cap - 1300m.
1st - Riddles 2nd - Polar Hut 3rd - Command And Obey 4th - But Say
BUT SAY (G. Colless) was tightened for room on jumping away between POLAR HUT (M. Palmer) and THORPEIAN (S. Galloway), which shifted in.
MEADOW WHISPER (S. Seamer) was slow to begin.
TARQUINIUS (J. Taylor) jumped outwards at the start, forcing RIDDLES (R. McMahon) out on to BUDDIES (T.Pannell).
Shortly after the start, TARQUINIUS commenced to hang out, and approaching the first turn continued to hang out, taking BUDDIES out on to the heels of SLIM PICKINGS (J. Warrington), forcing BUDDIES to be checked. GOLD COAST EXPRESS (R. Plumb), which was following, had to be steadied as a consequence. In this incident, GOLDENT (K. Pope), which was racing forward of TARQUINIUS, was galloped on and shifted out abruptly. TARQUINIUS continued to hang out for the remainder of the event. SLIM PICKINGS was then obliged to race wide for the majority of the event. Trainer P. Duff was advised that TARQUINIUS would be required to trial to the stewards' satisfaction prior to its next race start.
The club's veterinary surgeon reported that MEADOW WHISPER (S. Seamer) was found to be shin sore in the off foreleg following the event.
Race 3: Luminia 3yo & Up Maiden Plate - 1200m.
1st - Impetus 2nd - Rachaya 3rd - Crackle Dash 4th - Hurricane Hannah
NAVAL COMMANDER (S. Shield) jumped inwards at the start, making contact with CRACKLE DASH (C. Whiteley).
MISS FOREST (P. Wolfgram) was hampered on jumping away between BOB THE BAGMAN (R. McMahon) and SAWTOOTH (S. Galloway), both of which shifted ground.
G. Colless, rider of IMPETUS, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that near the 1150m. he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of SISTER TIME (J. Taylor), taking that filly in, tightening the running of both NAVAL COMMANDER (S. Shield) and CRACKLE DASH (C. Whiteley), resulting in NAVAL COMMANER having to be steadied to avoid the heels of SISTER TIME, and CRACKLE DASH, which was racing to the inside of NAVAL COMMANDER, having to be taken hold of by its rider. G. Colless was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 6 meetings, to commence at midnight, 12 November, and to expire at midnight, 23 November 2005.
Near the 300m., CRACKLE DASH (C. Whiteley) shifted out abruptly around the heels of HURRICANE HANNAH (J. Bowditch) to improve and in doing so made contact with RACHAYA (S. Seamer). C. Whiteley, rider of CRACKLE DASH, was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
Near the 250m., CLEARLY GORGEOUS (R. Plumb) was forced to race in restricted room between COLOSSAL (T.Pannell) and SAWTOOTH (S. Galloway) which was inclined to lay in.
CLEARLY GORGEOUS (R. Plumb) was again tightened for room near the 100m. between COLOSSAL (T.Pannell), which shifted out slightly, and SAWTOOTH, which was inclined to lay in.
SAWTOOTH (S. Galloway) and SOLOMON'S CROWN (K. Wharton) were forced to race wide for the majority of the event.
IMPETUS (G. Colless) lost its near fore plate in running.
Race 4: Chime Zam Class 3 H'cap - 1500m.
1st - All Energy 2nd - Call Me Victor 3rd - Henavari 4th - Mahiman
CALL ME VICTOR was kicked behind the barriers on the near hind leg. CALL ME VICTOR was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.
ALL ENERGY (K. Pope) and IT'S ALL A GAME (S. Galloway) came together on jumping away.
Near the 1000m., MAHIMAN (S. Seamer) clipped the heels of L'ELEVE (J. Bowditch) and had to be steadied. HIGH COURT (T.Pannell), which was following, had to be steadied as a consequence.
After passing the 1000m., L'ELEVE (J. Bowditch) and A SIR LA (K. Wharton) were forced to race in restricted room to the inside of COOLIBAH KID (M. Palmer), which shifted in.
MAHIMAN (S. Seamer) was inclined to race ungenerously in the middle stages.
ALL ENERGY and COOLIBAH KID (M. Palmer) were forced to race wide for the majority of the race.
When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of HIGH COURT, apprentice Pannell stated that the gelding only jumped fairly and instead of being caught wide he elected to ease the gelding back further than anticipated. He further added that HIGH COURT never travelled comfortably from after passing the 600m.. Trainer J. Hawkes' representative Mr D. Brown stated that the gelding settled back further than anticipated and, in his opinion, may need to have an ease up as the gelding races best when fresh.
A post-race veterinary examination of HIGH COURT failed to reveal any abnormality and a swab sample was taken.
B. Stewart, rider of CALL ME VICTOR, was fined $200 for returning to scale in excess of half a kilogram overweight.
Race 5: Northern Time Class 4 H'cap - 1000m.
1st - Les Jeux E'Esprit 2nd - Stylish Qualo 3rd - Hellenic Warrior 4th - Buddy Sequalo
The tongue-tie on KALINGA COUNTY became dislodged behind the barriers and was unable to be refitted. Stewards permitted KALINGA COUNTY to race without a tongue-tie.
KALINGA COUNTY (M. Rice) was slow to begin.
LES JEUX D'ESPRIT (G. Colless) jumped outwards at the start, making contact with HELLENIC WARRIOR (R. McMahon).
NORTHERN GAME (R. Plumb) jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, making contact with BUDDY SEQUALO (J. Taylor). NORTHERN GAME then shifted back in and made contact with STYLISH QUALO (J. Sharp) and became unbalanced.
STYLISH QUALO (J. Sharp) was held up for clear running in the early stages of the straight.
Approaching the 300m., BUDDY SEQUALO (J. Taylor) was disappointed for a run between NORTHERN GAME (R. Plumb), which shifted out, and BIRDLADY (J. Bowditch), which shifted in.
Near the 300m., STYLISH QUALO (J. Sharp) shifted out, forcing NORTHERN GAME (R. Plumb) and BIRDLADY (J. Bowditch) wider on the track.
WYNDELLA (T. O'Hara) and BIRDLADY (J. Bowditch) were forced to race wide throughout.
Race 6: King Rautai Class 3 H'cap - 1800m.
1st - Mix 2nd - Close The Deal 3rd - Gulliver Travels 4th - The Coutes Way
GRAND COLOURS (J. Taylor) jumped away awkwardly.
BIRRI (M. Tarrant) was inclined to overrace in the early stages, and near the 1600m. had to be steadied off the heels of CLOSE THE DEAL (G. Colless).
DELAGO DUMPER lost its off fore plate in running.
Race 7: Mighty Grey Welter H'cap - 1600m.
1st - Picablu 2nd - Warrior Trader 3rd - Scenic Wells 4th - Kootoomootoo
KOOTOOMOOTOO (J. Bowditch) blundered on jumping away.
PICABLU (G. Colless) jumped inwards at the start, making contact with SCENIC WELLS (M. Palmer).
WARRIOR TRADER (S. Galloway) jumped awkwardly.
Approaching the first turn, DON'T TELL CLANG (R. McMahon), which was inclined to overrace, shifted in, tightening the running of SCENIC WELLS.
Near the 650m., WARRIOR TRADER (S. Galloway) had to be steadied off the heels of PICABLU (G. Colless).
CRIMEWAVE (R. Plumb) travelled wide in the middle stages.
ZEDSQUARE (R. Pittman) was forced to race wide for the majority of the event.
When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of DON'T TELL CLANG, apprentice R. McMahon stated that the mare travelled well, however when the field quickened shortly after straightening, she was left flatfooted. He further added that a short distance later, DON'T TELL CLANG was under pressure and failed to respond to his riding.
Race 8: On The Beach Class 3 H'cap m.
1st - Lutyens 2nd - Space Dream 3rd - Duke Sam 4th - Tranquil Blue
THE BIG EASY was declared a late scratching by stewards on veterinary advice at 3.50 p.m. after the gelding was injured en route to the course.
BRAEBROOK (P. Wolfgram) was inclined to hang out when racing wide in the middle stages.
Near the 250m., RUSTIC RAMBLER (S. Seamer) shifted in and brushed TRANQUIL BLUE (R. Pittman).
On pulling up, S. Seamer was dislodged from RUSTIC RAMBLER. S. Seamer suffered no apparent injury.
