Race 1: LOGAN VILLAGE TAVERN 1MW H’CAP - 1500m

A warning was placed on ACCELERATION (P. Wolfgram) which was slow to begin.
BURGUNDY PRINCE (J. Powell) shifted out to improve near the 400m and brushed TEMPLIN (D. Hayse).
YASS RIVER (J. Byrne) was inclined to lay in after leaving the 300m.
Apprentice R. McMahon was fined $100 under AR. 145 for returning to scale in excess of half a kilogram overweight.
Race 2: ORD MINNETT 2MW LY H’CAP - 1200m
1st – Stood Up 2nd – Grecolo 3rd – Monsoon Sunrise 4th – Tornadic Sky
VIDEO HITS (J. Powell) jumped awkwardly and missed the start.
KUTALO (Matthew Palmer) hung off badly making the home turn, taking TORNADIC SKY (J. Holder) extremely wide. KUTALO was then retired from the event. When questioned, apprentice M. Palmer stated that after leaving the crossing he felt that the bit had become displaced and pulled through the horse’s mouth. Trainer’s representative Mr D. Gollan undertook to recommend to the trainer that he experiment with another bit to prevent a recurrence. A veterinary examination of KUTALO revealed no abnormalities.
Race 3: PARUPS WARING ARCHITECTS PLATE - 1200m
1st – Tour Guide 2nd – Testimonial 3rd – Colonial Lass 4th – Shanambah
PALACE LOVER (K. Forrester) jumped away awkwardly.
PRINCESS NORMA (J. Jones) was slow to jump.
Race 4: SPOTLESS SERVICE LIMITED QTIS H’CAP 1000m
1st – Falco Star 2nd – Sashenka 3rd – Educated 4th – Voodoo Brown Magic
SASHENKA (A. Coome) jumped away awkwardly and missed the start.
VOODOO BROWN MAGIC (R. McMahon) jumped in at the start and hampered FELINE HUNTER (J. Byrne).
Near the 700m SASHENKA was momentarily cramped for room by FALCO STAR (J. Holder) which shifted in.
PLENTY OF PRACTISE (O. Turpin), which raced wide for the majority of the event, shifted out abruptly after making the crossing.
SASHENKA had difficulty obtaining clear running until leaving the 200m.
Near the 100m REDHOTJAZZ (C. Spry) was cramped for room between FALCO STAR and EDUCATED (J. Powell).
EDUCATED was hampered on the finishing line when FALCO STAR shifted in.
Race 5: WINDSOR RECRUITMENT 0MW H’CAP - 1000m
1st – Lennon 2nd – The Hand 3rd – Pagan County 4th – Chain Of Thought
Trainer B. Wakefield was fined $100 under LR. 70 for failing to declare J. Powell as the rider of PAGAN COUNTY by the prescribed time.
PAGAN COUNTY (J. Powell) was trapped wide after the start and raced wide throughout.
THE HAND (C. Spry) raced wide for the majority of the event.
Near the 650m THE HAND and SNEAKY LONG (P. Gesler) were cramped for room and made heavy contact when tightened by SEQUACY (J. Holder) which was taken in by THIS TOO SHALLPASS (J. Jones). Apprentice Jones was reprimanded under AR. 137(a) and instructed to provide more clearance in future when crossing.
Race 6: ST MARGARET’S EXHIBITION H’CAP - 1800m
1st – Motivate 2nd – Daring Fortune 3rd – Finder Page 4th – Adavale Hornet
WHEEL THE LEAD (J. Taylor) was slow to jump.
Near the 1600m RUE THE SAINT (J. Bowditch) got its head up and raced ungenerously for a short distance after improving on to the heels of FINDER PAGE (J. Jones).
After leaving the 50m NEXGEN (J. Byrne) was tightened between MOTIVATE (R. McMahon), which shifted out, and FINDER PAGE, which shifted in and away from DARING FORTUNE (J. Powell). Apprentice R. McMahon and apprentice J. Jones were both severely reprimanded for failing to take sufficient measures to keep their mounts straight near the finishing line.
Race 7: NORRIS MOTOR GROUP COUNTRY CUP H’CAP - 1400m
1st – Felixtrinidad 2nd – Fine Cheval 3rd – Count Henry 4th – Fond Bond
KENDRICK LAD (L. Fyfe) was slow to jump.
COUNT HENRY (J. Byrne) jumped in at the start and crowded FAIR GAME (Michael Palmer).
Near the 1100m FOND BOND (S. Galloway), KENDRICK LAD and JYI’S PROSPECT (J. Bowditch) all raced in restricted room to the inside of FINE SEAS (K. Forrester) which had to be steadied to avoid the heels of BORN FOR GLORY (D. Peisley) which shifted in. Apprentice D. Peisley was severely reprimanded and advised to allow more room in similar circumstances. FOND BOND then continued to race in restricted room until after leaving the 1000m.
Approaching the 900m FELIXTRINIDAD (J. Jones) got its head up and raced ungenerously when improving on to the heels of CANADIAN BUNNY (O. Turpin), which was not racing directly on the rails. At the 800m FELIXTRINIDAD got its head up when being steadied after again improving on to the heels of CANADIAN BUNNY.
INDUSTRIAL FAN (J. Taylor) was obliged to race wide in the middle stages.
Leaving the 300m FELIXTRINIDAD shifted out and brushed COUNT HENRY.
Race 8: CPX PRINTING & LOGISTICS H’CAP - 1600m
1st – Easily Done 2nd – Nellie Got There 3rd – Montoux 4th – St Louis Blue
OCTOBER SKY (J. Byrne) was slow to begin.
TIME AND DANDY (K. Yoshida) and WINSOME LOOT (D. Peisley) raced wide throughout.
Approaching the 800m ST LOUIS BLUE (Michael Palmer) raced up on to the heels of JIMIDEAN (J. Holder) and shifted in making contact with ENGINEER (C. Spry).
At the 400m MONTOUX (J. Bowditch) attempted to shift out to improve and made contact with OCTOBER SKY. After being disappointed for a run between OCTOBER SKY and TIME AND DANDY, MONTOUX was again disappointed for a run between TIME AND DANDY and WINSOME LOOT at the 300m and was held up until near the 200m.
Near the 300m OCTOBER SKY was cramped for room between TIME AND DANDY and EASILY DONE (K. Forrester).
EASILY DONE was inclined to shift inwards under pressure over the final 200m, which resulted in MONTOUX and NELLIE GOT THERE (J. Taylor) being cramped near the finishing line.
JIMIDEAN was inclined to lay in under pressure over the final stages.
Near the 200m ENGINEER had to be steadied and shifted out from around the heels of ST LOUIS BLUE which was taken in by TAG (R. McMahon).
