Race 1: Skyracing.TV Maiden Plate - 1300m
1st – Seqsea 2nd – Mashaba 3rd – In Taipei 4th – Moment To Remember
Apprentice M. McGuren will be interviewed regarding his reason for not being able to fulfil his engagement on READY TO RULE. Stewards approved P. Schmidt as the replaced rider for READY TO RULE.
MOMENT TO REMEMBER (M. Vance) jumped outwards at the start and made heavy contact with DARK MATTER (G. Cooksley).
For a short distance passing the 800m, SEQSEA (P. Keane) raced fiercely at the heels of MASHABA (D. Browne).
When the pace steadied near the 700m, SEQSEA had to be restrained from the heels of MASHABA. BODERY VAREMO (A. Kitson), which was following, had to be restrained and shifted out, taking MOMENT TO REMEMBER and IN TAIPEI (R. Wiggins) wider on the track.
A short distance later, BODERY VAREMO again shifted out when overracing, resulting in MOMENT TO REMEMBER having to be checked when tightened for room between that runner and IN TAIPAI.
Near the 600m, DARK MATTER had to be checked when tightened for room by RATTLER’S LAD (J. Byrne), which was inclined to lay in away from MOMENT TO REMEMBER despite the efforts of its rider.
MOMENT TO REMEMBER had difficulty securing clear running in the early part of the home straight.
After passing the 300m, BODERY VAREMO hung in away from SLICK LAGO (T. Harrison). BODERY VAREMO continued to hang in for some distance.
READY TO RULE (P. Schmidt) and IN TAIPEI raced wide throughout.
SEQSEA lost its near hind plate in running.
Race 2: Drumbeats@Lyndhurst Stud 3yo Maiden Plate - 1600m
1st – Mr Scary 2nd – Zigurat 3rd – Frontalis 4th - Stopsign
ZIGURAT (M. Vance) was slow to begin.
Near the 1500m, BUTCH’S MATE (J. Taylor) was tightened for room between SHARMA (G. Colless) and OUR EVOLUTION (N. Perrett), both of which shifted ground. When N. Perrett corrected OUR EVOLUTION, it made contact with POSEN (J. Noonan), which in turn shifted out, bumping NEURUM ROAD (L. Cassidy) out on to SIRRUSH (G. Cooksley) and SAMBODROMO (A. Mundy), which were all inconvenienced as a consequence.
Passing the 1200m, SHARMA (G. Colless) shifted out, taking OUR EVOLUTION (N. Perrett) out on to POSEN (J. Noonan), resulting in POSEN and SIRRUSH (G. Cooksley), which shifted in at the same time, coming into heavy contact. SIRRUSH then commenced to race ungenerously and did so until commencing to yield ground near the 600m.
STOPSIGN (T. Harrison) and HARD TARGET (P. Schmidt) overraced in the early stages.
D. Browne, rider of KENAMON BELLE, reported that from the wide barrier he elected to restrain his mount in the early stages to gain a position closer to the rail and as a result he settled in a rearward position. He added he would have liked to have improved into the race from the 600m, however NEURUM ROAD at that time was hanging out and as a result he was obliged to shift wider on the track to improve around that runner.
B. Wallace, rider of MR SCARY, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that near the 450m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of STOPSIGN (T. Harrison), resulting in STOPSIGN having to be checked to avoid the heels of MR SCARY. B. Wallace was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 6 meetings, to commence at midnight, 6 May and to be expire at midnight, 13 May 2012.
OUR EVOLUTION, NEURUM ROAD and SIRRUSH all raced wide throughout.
NEURUM ROAD hung out throughout the event. Trainer B. Mason was advised that NEURUM ROAD must compete in an official barrier trial prior to being permitted to race again. Trainer Mason later reported to stewards that he had x-rays taken which had revealed the gelding to be suffering from inflammation to its off fore pedal bone and NEURUM ROAD would be sent for a lengthy spell.
MR SCARY shifted out under pressure in the straight.
G. Cooksley reported that SIRRUSH was forced to race wide in the early stages and then commenced to hang out and race greenly. He added that the colt weakened badly from the 600m. Trainer R. Heathcote was of the view that SIRRUSH did not handle today’s heavy track conditions and that he will send the colt for an immediate spell. A post race veterinary examination of SIRRUSH failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
BUTCH’S MATE, which bled during the event, will be barred from racing for a period of 3 months.
Race 3: St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School 3yo Maiden H'cap - 1200m

Passing the 1000m, SOARING ANGEL (P. Hammersley) was checked when tightened for room by KUYA (G. Cooksley), which was racing greenly and was taken in slightly by SHOW AFFECTION (J. Byrne), which was also taken in by EVERYTHING TO GAIN (R. Wiggins), which shifted in when not fully clear. R. Wiggins, rider of EVERYTHING TO GAIN, was issued with a reprimand and advised to ensure he provides his fellow riders with sufficient room in future.
Approaching the 1100m, SOARING ANGEL (P. Hammersley) and KUYA (G. Cooksley) bumped.
STAY TIL DAWN raced wide in the early stages to a point near the 700m.
G. Cooksley reported that the saddle on KUYA slipped back in the home straight, which placed him at a disadvantage.
P. Hammersley reported that SOARING ANGEL did not handle today’s heavy track conditions. A post race veterinary examination of SOARING ANGEL failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
Race 4: Sky Racing Brisbance Bloodstock Bonus 2yo Maiden Plate – 1200m
1st – Caballo Rapido 2nd – Canningly 3rd – Will Be Amazed 4th - Big Decision

CABALLO RAPIDO (B. Stewart), WEARING WINGS (C. Munce) and WHAT A SENSATION (K. Matheson) were slow to begin.
Approaching the 900m, WHAT A SENSATION had to be steadied when tightened for room between EMOTIONAL TME (M. Vance) and GERMAYNE LASS (T. Bell), which shifted in slightly. GO THE SHOW (J. Taylor),which was following, was also inconvenienced.
Near the 300m, CABALLO RAPIDO was disappointed for a run at the heels of WILL BE AMAZED (S. Galloway) when that horse shifted out.

Near the 800m, SCENIC BLAST (S. Scriven); shifted in and collided with running rail and became unbalanced.
Jockey P. Hammersley reported that STARSTREAMED did not handle today’s heavy track conditions.
Stewards sought an explanation from jockey C. Munce regarding the performance of ADEBISI. Jockey Munce informed stewards that he was of the view that he could lead on the horse and rode ADEBISI aggressively in the early stages with the intention of doing so. C. Munce added that ADEBISI did not show its customary early speed and when it became clear to him he could not cross BUFFERING in the early stages he chose to steady and occupy a position outside of BUFFERING. Jockey Munce added that ADEBISI did not travel well after being unable to lead and when the paced increased approaching the home turn and when SCENIC BLAST improved to ADEBISI’S inside, ADEBISI commenced to lay out and tired quite badly from that point. Trainer D. Forster informed stewards that ADEBISI had performed similarly in wet conditions previously in its career and whilst she was obviously disappointed, she was firmly of the view that the performance of ADEBISI today could be attributed to the track conditions. D. Forster advised stewards that she would have her stable veterinary surgeon examine ADEBISI in the following days and advise stewards of anything that may have had an effect of ADEBISI’S performance. A post race veterinary examination of ADEBISI failed to reveal any significant abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.

J. Parr, rider of BRAMBLES, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding for permitting his mount to shift in after passing the 1300m when not sufficiently clear of SLYSERA, resulting in SLYSERA being taken in across the rightful running of JACK’S BACK, which had to be checked.
