Race 1: Channel Seven Benchmark 90 H'cap - 1800m
1st – Transporter 2nd – Playaction 3rd – Music Maestro 4th – Satch

Correct weight was delayed to allow stewards to view the official video close to the winning post where it appeared that the winner TRANSPORTER made contact with the 2nd placegetter PLAY ACTION. After reviewing the footage, it was found that as both hoses passed the finish line, TRANSPORTER shifted in and brushed PLAYACTION. Stewards were satisfied this did not affect the finishing positions of both horses and correct weight was semaphored on the Judge’s placings.

BLOODHOUND (J. Lloyd) was slow to begin.

DANAGAZE (K. Matheson) jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

On the finish line, TRANSPORTER (M. Cahill) shifted in and brushed PLAYACTION.

When the pace steadied near the 1400m, both MUSIC MAESTRO (T. Bell) and BLOODHOUND (J. Lloyd) overraced.

Apprentice K. Matheson reported that DANAGAZE was not suited by the slow pace during the race, however added that the gelding did not finish the race off as he had expected. A post race veterinary examination of DANAGAZE failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

A post race veterinary examination of EMOTICON failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

Race 2: Timeform QTIS 3yo H'cap - 1600m
1st – Platinum State 2nd – Purringa 3rd – Antarctic Dream 4th – Niello’s Gift

BRANTZ (M. Cahill) was slow to begin.

Race 3: Barrier Reef Pools Benchmark 85 H'cap - 1000m
1st – Theft 2nd – Jugahlation 3rd – Found The One 4th – Sarah’s Secret

Near the 600m, THEFT (C. Munce) shifted in, tightening the running of FOUND THE ONE (M. Cahill) and GREYZEEL (E. Wilkinson).

A post race veterinary examination of LONE ASSASSIN, which raced wide throughout failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

Race 4: Redpath Golden Jubilee CG&E Class 6 H'cap - 1400m
1st – Jet Style 2nd – Cyclone Al 3rd – Solebid 4th – Jack’s Back

ON FACE VALUE (J. Lloyd) jumped away awkwardly.

Approaching the 1000m, ON FACE VALUE commenced to overrace and had to be steadied away from the heels of SOLEBID (M. Hellyer).

JET STYLE (C. Munce) was held up rounding the home turn and near the 350m shifted out from behind the heels of SOLEBID and brushed DARTH (T. Bell).

At the entrance to the straight, CYCLONE AL (L. Cassidy) shifted out to improve and made contact with ON FACE VALUE, resulting in ON FACE VALUE becoming unbalanced. In this incident, JACK’S BACK (R. McMahon) was taken wider.

JACK’S BACK was inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.

DARTH raced wide throughout.

Race 5: Gumnut Furniture Open H'cap - 1500m
1st – Bold Glance 2nd – Poor Judge 3rd – War Ends 4th – Hour Of Peril

CROSSTHESTART (M. Vance) was slow to begin and then blundered.

When questioned, apprentice R. Myers could offer no tangible excuse for the disappointing performance of LUCKY LUNA.

A swab sample was taken from 2nd placegetter, POOR JUDGE.

Race 6: Cox Rayner Architects F&M Class 6 H'cap - 1400m
1st – Cuddlesome 2nd – Flying Jet 3rd – Comahni 4th - Falvelina

COMAHNI, which kicked out with its off hind leg making contact with the rail in the enclosure race, was examined by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers and cleared to race.

Stewards questioned B. Stewart regarding the tactics he adopted on CUDDLESOME. He stated that he had not received any specific instructions, and was prepared to lead, however when COMAHNI (J. Taylor) and JUST DESTINY (T. Bell) improved to his outside shortly after the start, he eased CUDDLESOME to race just off the pace. B. Stewart also advised when the mare won at Lismore on 27 August CUDDLESOME raced back in the field, and the only reason it led at its previous start at Eagle Farm on 15 August was that CUDDLESOME drew wide. The explanation was noted.

Race 7: FDC Construction & Fitout Open H'cap - 1200m
1st – Too Many Reds 2nd – Latin News 3rd – Morning Captain 4th – Favela Star

A pre-race veterinary examination of THE JACKAL cleared the horse to start.

Approaching the 100m, TOO MANY REDS, which improved into a narrow run between MORNING CAPTAIN and LATIN NEWS (D. Browne), was accidentally struck over the head by the whip of D. Browne, rider of LATIN NEWS.

Near the 50m, LATIN NEWS, which was shifting ground inwards, was then straightened by is rider.

DRIVING REIGN (G. Colless) was slow to begin.

RUN JAKE RUN (S. Drake) was hampered shortly after the start when tightened for room between RUN ROYAL RUN (C. Munce) and HOOTILLA (M. Vance), both of which shifted ground.

R. Wiggins reported at scale that CAELLUM pulled hard in the early stages and as a result his saddle shifted back, placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race.

PRINCELY (C. Pye) commenced to race fiercely after leaving the 1200m when being steadied off the heels of CAELLUM.

KNUTE (R. Myers) raced wide without cover in the early stages and then hung out rounding the 1000m turn, which enabled PRINCELY to improve to her inside.

C. Pye reported at scale that the saddle on PRINCELY shifted forward after leaving the 1000m, placing her at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.

RUN ROYAL RUN was held up rounding the home turn. Inside the 100m, RUN ROYAL RUN was again held up for clear running over the concluding stages.

RUN JAKE RUN was held up in the early stages of the straight and did not obtain clear running until near the 300m.
