GENERAL

Trackwork rider B. Lang pleaded guilty to a charge under AR87B in that he was mounted whilst not wearing an approved safety vest and was fined $200. He also pleaded guilty to a further charge under AR175(p) in that he disobeyed a direction from an official and was subsequently fined the sum of $100.

Race 1: Hamilton Hotel F&M Class 3 H'cap - 1000m

THE RIGHT ONE – Began awkwardly.

SPONTANEITY – Jockey N. Tomizawa was reprimanded for failing to weigh in as the 5th placegetter when required to do so.

Following this event the track rating was upgraded to Dead 4.




Race 2: Australian Open Polo Doomben Racecourse - 1000m

I'M ALONE – Proved difficult to load into the barriers. Shifted out abruptly at the start. Became awkward near the 100m after being bumped. Raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

MORGANA LE FAYE – Slow to begin. Hampered at start. Ran wide on the home turn.

DUPORTH JACK – Began awkwardly. Forced wider near the 700m.

DAZZLING GIRL – Steadied away from heels near the 700m.

ELIZONDO – Steadied away from heels near the 350m. Steadied away from heels approaching the 100m.

KATELETTE – Jockey B. Stewart was reprimanded for shifting out near the 200m when not fully clear.

TANZANITE LUCK – Momentarily inconvenienced near the 200m when steadied from heels.

KNIGHT ERRANT – Steadied near the 200m when awkwardly placed at heels. Steadied again approaching the 100m when awkwardly placed at heels.

BOARD DIRECTOR - Raced wide for the majority of the race.


Race 3: Mekoe Accessories F&M Maiden H'cap – 1400m

EVERYBODY HAPPY - Connections advised that with the addition of blinkers the horse would be ridden in a more forward position today. The horse was ridden accordingly. A post race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the near-side nostril.

PANYA – Slow to begin.

SKYLAR'S STAR – Refused to jump with the field and lost considerable ground. Connections were advised the horse must trial satisfactorily in an official trial prior to its next race start.

ASSERTIVE LOVE – Blundered at start.

EL JADIDA – Steadied from heels near the 1100m.

HUSSY FIVE OH – Raced 3 deep without cover. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the off foreleg. Connections will be advised that a veterinary clearance will be required.









Race 4: Walker Technical Consultants CG&E Maiden H'cap - 1400m

WARNING SIGNAL – Inclined to lay out in the middle stages.

MAN OF LAW – Disappointed for clear running near the 200m.


Race 5: Powerade F&M Class 4 H'cap - 1300m

On return to scale a protest was lodged by L. Tarrant, rider of the 2nd placegetter STRUTTER against KALANDULA being declared the winner alleging interference from the 200m. After taking evidence from all parties and considering the matter, the protest was dismissed and correct weight semaphored on the Judge's placings. Subsequently, L. Tarrant was fined $200 for lodging what the stewards deemed to be a frivolous objection.

RICHENZA – Trainer advised following the race he will have the horse examined by his veterinary surgeon and will report the findings to stewards.


Race 6: Food & Wine Raceday 30th August CG&E Class 4 H'cap - 1300m

TORCELLO – Raced wide in the early stages.

HEART SMART – Held up for a short distance approaching the 200m.


Race 7: Corona Beach Party Class 3 H'cap - 1600m

AKBAR – Raced 3 wide without cover.

ISLA POPPY – Got its head up when being restrained passing the 1000m.

KINGTANTES – Held up rounding the home turn.

ISLA POPPY – Shifted out and bumped after leaving the 400m.

NIGHT CHILLS – Bumped leaving the 400m.


Race 8: Racing Retro Benchmark 75 H'cap - 2100m

UNO FIVE – Steadied away from heels passing the winning post on the first occasion.

LENTINI MIST – Apprentice jockey B. Grylls was severely reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift in when not fully clear of UNO FIVE passing the winning post on the first occasion.

HEATER – Pulled hard in the middle stages.

MARKOUT – Checked off heels and obliged to alter course after leaving the 400m.
Race 9: Farewell Eagle Farm Track Class 6 Plate – 1200m

TERONADO – Jumped away awkwardly, losing ground.

YOU DID WHAT – Slow to begin.

COMAHNI – Bumped heavily at the start. Steadied off heels leaving the 1000m.

MONBAZILLAC – Tightened for room at the start and shifted in and away from MISHANI GLADIATOR and bumped. Steadied after improving onto heels near the 700m.

AIN'T SHE SWEET – Bumped at start.

KENTUCKY WOMAN – Steadied near the 1000m and shifted out.

TERONADO – Checked to avoid heels near the 600m.

DEL PALIO – Forced 3 wide near the 1000m.
