Starters 4 – A protest was lodged by jockey T.Long rider of BLUE REGENT placed second by the judges against MAGNETISED being awarded the race claiming interference in the final stages of the race. A further protest was lodged by jockey L. Nelson rider of MYOPIA placed 3rd by the Judges against BLUE REGENT being award 2nd place alleging interference in the final stages of the race. As both protests referred to the same incident they were heard simultaneously.

After taking evidence from all parties, consulting the video patrol film of the race and acting on their own observations the Stewards dismissed both protests. In the case of the protest 3rd against 2nd the Stewards took into consideration the proximity of the incident to the winning post and in the case of 2nd against 1st the Stewards held the opinion that BLUE REGENT attempted to take a run when there was insufficient room.

In the final 30m BLUE REGENT attempted to take a run between MAGNETISED and MYOPIA when there was insufficient room causing MYOPIA to check crossing the line.

ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
