RACE 1:. Primac Elders Townsville Maiden Handicap 820 metres
Starters 8 Jockey M Callaghan was not on course and was replaced as rider of CEINWEN by J Felix at 12.50. SCARLET LACE (E. Kowald) was fractious in the starting stalls sustaining injuries to itself. SCARLET LACE was withdrawn by order of the stewards. All bets on SCARLET LACE were ordered to be refunded and all winning bets ordered to be paid less 19c win, and 16c place in the dollar on the face value of the ticket. RARE INDEED (L Critoph) was slow to leave the starting stalls.

RACE 2: Suncorp Metway and J Nimno Class 6 Handicap 1220 metres
Starters 6 Weights raised 1 kg. LONG DIN SILVER jumped in the air when the gates opened and was slow into galloping action.

RACE 3: Parry Nissan Class 2 Handicap 1020 metres First Division
Starters 8 FOCAL POINT (J. Long) was slow into galloping action and was reluctant to gallop freely for the first 500 metres. J Lewis replaced M Callaghan who was not on course, as rider of TASTY DROP.

RACE 4: Past Members Memorial Bracelet Open Handicap 1020 metres.
Starters 5 DELTA GLOW (A. Molino) jumped outwards when the gates opened making contact with INVESTITURE (J Lewis), COME BACK RUSTY (E. Kowald) hung in down the straight and was steadied by its rider to straighten it.

RACE 5: Turner Agencies and Fransen Plumbing Class 4 handicap 1020 metres
Starters 5 no incidents in running.

RACE 6 Parry Nissan Class 2 Handicap 1020 metres Second division
Starters 8 weights raised 3 kgs. TELEHO (A. Cox) was reluctant to enter the starting stalls.
