WEATHER – FINE TRACK – Good
GENERAL
RACE 1: CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1100 METRES ( 6 STARTERS)
As the start was effected DAI RULER(E. Hooper) jumped awkwardly.
Jockey A Williams was issued with a severe reprimand for allowing his mount
DUST STORMER to shift in at approximately the 800mts mark when insufficiently clear of RECORD TIME (N. Coyne).
RACE 2: CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1100 METRES (9 STARTERS)
Stewards fined trainer Ross Meek and jockey Darren Bird $25.00 each under the terms of AR118(a) for adding gear to KALNUTO after weighing out.
On jumping KALNUTO (D. Bird) threw its head in the air causing it to lose several lengths.
On returning to scale BOLD REGAL was discovered to have blood in its mouth as a result of hitting its head on the barriers.
Stewards inquired into the reason for jockey Bill Bell being dislodged from his mount PROUD INVADER at approximately the 750mtr mark. After taking evidence from the riders involved, viewing the patrol footage and on their own observations, it was established by the stewards that EDGEROI ADAM (E. Hooper) shifted in when insufficiently clear of PROUD INVADER (B. Bell) causing PROUD INVADER to clip heels, dip and dislodge rider Bill Bell. Stewards charged jockey E. Hooper with careless riding under the terms of AR137(a). Jockey E. Hooper pleaded guilty to the charge and subsequently her license to ride in races was suspended for 3 weeks up to and including 14th June 2003.
RACE 3: MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000 METRES (8 STARTERS)
As the start was effected SCOOT CAN (N. Coyne) jumped outwards and bumped
TRIPLE KAM (B. Bell) who then bumped LA CHLOE (N. Nelson) which resulted in
LA CHLOE being tailed off.
RACE 4: OPEN HANDICAP 1000 METRES (6 STARTERS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 5: CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1300 METRES (5 STARTERS)
Jockey Athol Williams the rider of Mr INTEGRITY was fined the sum of $200.00 under the terms of AR144 for failing to weigh in as 3rd place getter.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
