SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:
Stewards adjourned an inquiry to a date and time to be fixed into the reason why D Evans did not arrive on course to fulfil his riding engagements for the day.
Race 1: MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M.
1st – PADDY GO EASY 2nd – CAPRIZANT 3rd – TINDAROO STAR 4th – KEOAMOR
Both ROSLYN DRIVE and EVASIVE LAD were declared late scratchings at 12.52pm due to no riders being available.
CAPRIZANT (App C McIver) which began awkwardly and became unbalanced, shifted in making contact with FOXYCAT (App A Coome) which also began awkwardly.
KEOAMOR (N Evans) was tightened for room at the start between TINDAROO STAR (M Cant) which jumped out and FLEUR DE PARIS (App L Dillon) which jumped in.
Approaching the 900m TINDAROO START (M Cant) which had a tendency to lay in, was further hampered by PADDY GO EASY (S Quick) which shifted in, becoming awkward on the heels of MY BROTHER JACK (G Michaels), which shifted out slightly. S Quick, the rider of PADDY GO EASY was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
KEOAMOR (N Evans) shifted in near the finish line inconveniencing FLEUR DE PARIS (App L Dillon). N Evans, the rider of KEOAMOR, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
FOXYCAT (App A Coome) raced wide throughout the race.
Race 2: CLASS 3 HANDICAP – 1000M.
1st – BRAWNY JACK 2nd – PREMIER RESORT 3rd – HARD WOOD FOREST 4th – CLASSIC WINNER
N Evans replaced D Evans as the rider of CLASSIC WINNER.
HARD WOOD FOREST (App L Dillon) was tightened for room shortly after the start between ALBERGINA (G Bell) and CLASSIC WINNER (N Evans) which both shifted ground.
HARD WOOD FOREST (App L Dillon) was inclined to lay in under pressure over the final 200m.
ALBERGINA (G Bell) raced wide throughout the race.
Race 3: OPEN HANDICAP – 1200M.
1st – GENERATOR 2nd – MR. MOSS 3rd – ODNATA 4th – YA WAHEED
J Stephens replaced D Evans as the rider of HOPE BURNS ETERNAL.
ODONATA (N Evans) was slow to begin.
PRIDE AND POWER (App A Coome) began awkwardly.
Both YA WAHEED (M Barnham) and PRIDE AND POWER (App A Coome) raced wide throughout the race.
Leaving the 350m ODONATA (N Evans) had to be steadied and shift in to avoid the heels of the tiring KAPITZA (App C McIver).
Race 4: CLASS B HANDICAP – 1300M.
1st – MR CRISTI 2nd – CAUGHT A YABBIE 3rd – TODMAN POWER 4th – HONEY QUEEN
Both LOUIE THE FLY and COBBI LAD were declared late scratchings at 12.00pm due to no riders being available.
OBAN was declared a late scratching at 2.40pm due to no rider being available.
INTUITIVE LAD (M Cant) jumped out at the start making contact with CAUGHT A YABBIE (G Michaels).
RUNPHIR (App L Dillon) and LORD SPARROW (S Quick) made contact at the start when both horses shifted ground.
OUR OLIVER YING (J Stephens) shifted in shortly after the start making contact with KATABATIC WINDS (M Barnham).
TINTED ARROW (G Bell), which was slow to begin, then commenced to race ungenerously for the majority of the race. R Cloherty, the trainer TINTED ARROW was advised a warning would be placed on that horses racing manners.
KATABATIC WINDS (M Barnham) raced wide throughout the race.
RUNPHIR (App L Dillon) lay out under pressure over the final 200m proving difficult to ride out.
Race 5: CLASS 5 HANDICAP – 1300M.
1st – ST SPARTICA 2nd – HIGH RANGER 3rd – LLONGO CHIEF 4th – IT’S VOLCANIC
DEXTROVERT (App L Dillon) which was unable to be loaded, was declared a late scratching at 4.08pm. On the announcement of correct weight, all monies invested on DEXTROVERT were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 19 cents in the dollar on the face value of all win bets, and 16 cents in the dollar on the face value of all place bets to be applicable. L Horstman, the trainer of DEXTROVERT, was advised the horse must perform in an official barrier trial, and a jump out to the steward’s satisfaction before being permitted to race again.
CORRIENTE (N Evans) was slow to begin.
ST SPARTICA (M Cant) jumped out at the start making heavy contact with IT’S VOLCANIC (S Quick) which inturn shifted out hampering RORY’S NORTH (G Bell) which was slow to begin.
IT’S VOLCANIC lost ground as a result.
RORY’S NORTH (G Bell) commenced to lay out leaving the 900m and near the 700m shifted out having to be steadied off the heels of IT’S VOLCANIC (S Quick).
FOB POCKET (J Stephens) raced wide throughout the race.
