SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Steward’s today inquired into the reason why, on Tuesday 30th January 2007, trainer Ms B Vale failed to scratch, MR ENTERTAINMENT, from Race 5, Heineken Class 4 H’Cap at Rockhampton Jockey Club by the prescribed time after being instructed to do so. After hearing all of the evidence B Vale was fined the sum of $300.00 under AR175 (p) in that she disobeyed a steward’s direction and failed to scratch MR ENTERTAINMENT by the prescribed time causing that runner to be declared at late scratching at 7.53am on Tuesday 30th January 2007.

Race 1: HANSENS TYRE & MECHANICAL CLASS 4 H’CAP - 1000 METRES
1st – SAN PHILLIPE 2nd – END SONG 3rd – BILLIGABOO 4th –

As A Lane was to be overweight, stewards permitted M Evans to ride SAN PHILLIPE. Subsequently A Lane was fined the sum of $100.00 under AR120(b).

The start was delayed when DEXTROVERT (W Morris) was unable to be loaded. Stewards declared the gelding a late scratching at 1:36pm and all monies invested on DEXTROVERT were ordered to be refunded and deductions of 16 cents in the dollar on the face value of all win bets were applicable. L Horstman the trainer of DEXTROVERT was advised that the gelding would be required to pass two barrier tests to steward’s satisfaction prior to racing again.

END SONG (App. T Bannon) was tightened for room at the start when both BILLIGABOO (J Welburn) and SAN PHILLIPE (M Evans) shifted ground.

Race 2: ESANDA FINANCE CLASS B HANDICAP - 1000 METRES
1st – HASTINGS AVENUE 2nd – PADDY GO EASY 3rd – MAUDIE KATE 4th – CAUGHT A YABBIE

GAMBLER’S WISH (J Welburn) was slow to begin.

A post race veterinary examination of BURLEE GIRL (S Quick) which compounded badly leaving the 400m revealed the mare to be lame in the off hind leg. R Vagg, the trainer of BURLEE GIRL, was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to racing again.

Race 3: REGIONAL INSURANCE BROKERS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE -1000 METRES
1st – WEST GINDIAN 2nd – ROCKA BOY 3rd – ALL THAT CASH 4th – LILY OF THE WEST

C Smith the trainer of RODWAY SPRITE was fined the sum of $50.00 under LR70 for failing to declare D Evans as the rider of that horse by the prescribed time.

LILY OF THE WEST (M Evans), ASCOTSFLEET (J Welburn) and HANDOUT THE ROSES (App. E Hooper) were all slow to begin.

ZOE’S LASS (A Lane) began awkwardly.

ALL THAT CASH (App. L Dillon) shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.

Race 4: A1 PANEL & PAINT OPEN HANDICAP - 1000 METRES
1st – TONES 2nd – RAHERA 3rd – KOALA 4th – PRIDE ‘N’ PROUD

KOALA (App. L Dillon) and PRIDE ‘N’ PROUD (W Morris) made contact at the start when both horses shifted ground.

Race 5: – HIGHLANDS MINING CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 1200 METRES
1st – SAM BENJ 2nd – CASTAWAY AL 3rd – RAPID RUBY 4th – AERO LASS

RUNPHIR (S Quick) jumped out at the start making heavy contact with AERO LASS (W Morris) which then shifted out and bumped POLISH BEN (App. E Hooper).

RAPID RUBY (App. L Dillon) began awkwardly making contact with the outside barrier partition causing it’s rider to lose the use of the off side iron until near the 700m.

Approaching the 1000m RUNPHIR had to be steadied off the heels of POLISH BEN when that horse shifted in slightly. As a result RUNPHIR over-raced for a short distance.
