Race 1: COCO’S KITCHEN CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1000M
1st – INDOCTRINATE 2nd – MY GREEN MACHINE 3rd – INFRINGEMENT 4th – KAAPERINA
SNIP OF LICHEN (D. Evans) was slow to begin.
KAAPERINA (M. Cant) began awkwardly and lost ground.
MY GREEN MACHINE (R. Hall) jumped out at the start making contact with INDOCTRINATE (S. Watkin).
R. Hall, the rider of MY GREEN MACHINE, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that near the 50m he permitted his mount to shift out under hard riding when insufficiently clear of KAAPERINA (M. Cant) causing that runner to be checked. R. Hall’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of three (3) meetings, to commence midnight Monday 15 September and to expire at midnight Saturday 27 September 2008.
MY GREEN MACHINE (R. Hall) and SHY BUCK (J. Robertson) both raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 2: SEASPRAY RESORT & REC CLUB MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M
1st – PLUCKY PRAWN 2nd – MYFFANWYS ANGEL 3rd – HIGHTONIAN 4th – DANISH KNIGHT
SMARTY HEARTY (W. Morris) and CARELESS AND CRAZY (R. Kerwin) were both slow to begin.
LETS GO BONGO (J. Robertson) commenced to race ungenerously shortly after the start for some distance.
CARELESS AND CRAZY (R. Kerwin) shifted in abruptly approaching the 1000m and then a short distance later shifted in making heavy contact with PLUCKY PRAWN (App A. Taylor) causing its rider to become unbalanced. ROKU EXPRESS (C. Beets) which was following had to be steadied as a result. R. Kerwin was reprimanded and advised to show greater care when shifting ground.
LETS GO BONGO (J. Robertson) was tightened for room and steadied near the 200m when taken out slightly by CARELESS AND CRAZY (R. Kerwin) and as a result made contact with the hind quarters of HUNTINGTON (D. Whitmore) which shifted in slightly. Both R. Kerwin and D. Whitmore were advised to exercise more care.
CARELESS AND CRAZY (R. Kerwin) and HUNTINGTON (D. Whitmore) both raced wide for the majority of the event.
Race 3: SEASPRAY – TAKE A DIFFERENT VIEW OPEN H’CAP – 1300M
1st – FLEET THE BONGO 2nd – INNARTO 3rd – KING’S CHAMP 4th – PREMIER RESORT
DANZIG WARRIOR (M. Cant) had a tendency to over race for a short distance leaving the 1200m.
Both EMERALD PARK (App K. Pedron) and DANZIG WARRIOR (M. Cant) raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 4: SEASPRAY LIVING HOMES CLASS B H’CAP – 1615M
1st – BOLD BID 2nd – ROCKA BOY 3rd – GALMAHRA 4th – KINGSLEY
SEA OF KNOWLEDGE (M. Cant) was slow to begin and then commenced to race ungenerously in the early and middle stages having a tendency to hang out and as a result raced wide for the majority of the race.
