RACE 1: WESTERN DOWNS REGIONAL COUNCIL MAIDEN PLATE 1000M-
1ST-Cabanda 2nd-Whatya Reckon 3rd- Locheil Lad 4th-I’ll Belt Ya

COUNT THE SMILES (S Apthorpe) which was slow to begin was further hampered at the start by HUTTON LASS (J Warrington) which jumped in.

BESSWISHES (N NIshio) raced wide rounding the home turn.

Stewards questioned jockey B Thomson in relation to the seemingly disappointing performance of I’LL BELT YA which performed below market expectations. Jockey Thomson advised Stewards that I’LL BELT YA travelled well in the run however when placed under pressure over the concluding stages the gelding failed to run on as she expected. Jockey Thomson further added that the gelding would take benefit from the run as it was first up from a spell today and on that basis was not entirely disappointed with the performance. Stewards noted the explanation.

RACE 2: CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1000M-
1ST- Turn And Burn 2nd-Done All Done 3rd- Ellectric Shok 4th- Second Hand Mac

The start was delayed slightly when TURN AND BURN required resaddling at the barriers.

Stewards issued a warning against SECOND HAND MAC (A Smith) after that mare proved difficult to load.

SUPER FELIX (N Nishio) was slow into stride.

DONE ALL DONE (B Thomson) and ELLECTRIC SHOK (J Warrington) made contact on jumping away.

TURN AND BURN (S Egan) was unable to muster early speed and raced well back in the early stages of the event.

RACE3: CLASS B HANDICAP 1000M-
1st-Northern Raider 2nd-Skyield 3rd-Go Dan Go 4th- Craiglea Candy

OUR YOUNG LASS was scratched at the scratching deadline due to no rider being available.

RIB TICKLER (J Warrington) jumped with its head in the air and lost ground.

GO DAN GO (B Thomson) and CRAIGLEA CANDY (N Nishio) both made the home turn wide.

RACE 4:QTIS CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1200M-
1ST-Honour Gaurd 2nd-The Last Rautai 3rd-Bastion Point 4th-Mister Maverick
CORONADO was scratched at the scratching deadline due to no rider being available.

THE LAST RAUTAI (S Egan) shifted out during the early stages of the event.

At the 800m, HONOUR GAURD (N Nishio) shifted out forcing FRISCO AFFAIR (A Taylor) wider on the track.

MISTER MAVERICK (S Apthorpe) over raced during the middle stages of the event.

THE LAST RAUTAI shifted in over the final 100m resulting in BASTION POINT (A Smith) having to be eased. App. S Egan was advised to stop riding and straighten his mounts when shifting ground in future.

A post race Veterinary Inspection of BASTION POINT revealed the gelding to have sustained a puncture wound to the off hind hoof. Trainer J Weidemann was advised that she must obtain a Veterinary Certificate for BASTION POINT prior to the gelding next racing.

RACE 5: PAUL LYNCH INSURANCE SERVICES FLINTON CUP OPEN H’CAP 1200M-
1st-Obliviator 2nd-Step Forward 3rd-Stefnick 4th-Miss Knightmare

GALLANT PILOT (N Nishio) was vetted behind the barrier and cleared to take its place in the field.
