SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:

Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer L. Manzelmann in relation to the late declaration of riders on her runners IN MY SIGHTS (Race 6) and AWASE OUGI (Race 7).


Race 1: IGA Supa QTIS 3YO Maiden H’Cap – 1000m.
1st – Buzzword 2nd – What Is This 3rd – Fairytale Fortune 4th – Prince Hattal

PRINCE HATTAL (D. Griffin) was slow away.

HOT ROSSA (App W Pearson) jumped away awkwardly.

BUZZWORD (D. Green) raced greenly when placed under pressure in the straight and near the 50m shifted in inconveniencing WHAT IS THIS (App D. Carrigg).

A postrace veterinary examination of THE CABALLERO (C. Whiteley) which compounded over the concluding stages failed to reveal any abnormality.



Race 2: IGA Brands Class 2 H’Cap – 1000m.
1st – Fasnatic 2nd – Vital Statistic 3rd – Winston 4th – Clangover

T. Treichel was fined the sum of $100.00 under LR51(1) for being dually engaged on FASNATIC and CLANGOVER in this event today.

INASPIN (P. Hammersley) was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start WINSTON (K. Pope) and FASNATIC made contact.

WINSTON had to be steadied near the 800m when tightened for room by CLANGOVER (B. Melham) which shifted in slightly.

FASNATIC (T. Treichel) and VITAL STATISTIC (App O. Turpin) both shifted out under pressure in the straight.

Approaching the 100m SHAOS (D. Barron) shifted inwards off the heels of CLANGOVER and in doing so brushed LESIA ROSE (D. Griffin).



Race 3: IGA Fresh 3YO Fillies & Mares Maiden Plate – 1200m.
1st – Ebony Girl 2nd – Caylabne 3rd – Girls With A Heart 4th – Reef Style

AKMA (App M. Hackett) jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. A short distance later AKMA had to be steadied when tightened for room between SIMPLY BLUE (App L. Rolls) which shifted out and MONTANI (L. Karklis) which shifted in slightly.

KINKY BOOTS (App W. Pearson) and GIRLS WITH A HEART (P. Hammersley) made contact on jumping away.

Shortly after the start REEF STYLE (T. Treichel) after initially being taken out by LADY PHUONG (D. Griffin) continued to shift out making contact with SONGBURST (D. Barron) which in turn made contact with SIMPLY BLUE.

Leaving the 800m AKMA improved up onto the heels of GIRLS WITH A HEART and had to be steadied. A short distance later AKMA again had to be steadied off the heels of GIRLS WITH A HEART.

KINKY BOOTS and LADY PHUONG hung out throughout the event.

SONGBURST hung out rounding the home turn and continued to hang out down the straight resulting in it’s rider being unable to fully test that horse.

Near the 200m AWARDS (B. Melham) improved up onto the heels of the tiring KINKY BOOTS and had to be steadied.



Race 4: IGA Community Chest 3YO & Up Colts, Geldings & Entires Maiden Plate – 1200m.
1st – Power City 2nd – Under Construction 3rd – Winnie’s Boy 4th – First Tradition

WINNIE’S BOY (App W. Pearson) jumped in at the start and made contact with THE GREEK GOD (C. Whiteley).

DAINTREE CROSSING (T. Treichel) jumped away awkwardly and shifted out making contact with FLYING SILVER (A. Merritt).

Near the 900m POWER CITY (D. Tanti) whilst overracing had to be restrained off the heels of HI SPIRIT which shifted in when not quite clear. As a consequence SPEED BUMP which was following was inconvenienced. B. Melham rider of HI SPIRIT was advised to afford his fellow riders sufficient clearance when crossing in future.

Near the 350m HI SPIRIT (B. Melham) broke down in the near side foreleg. When that horse lost ground as a result SPEED BUMP (K. Pope), FLYING SILVER, DR DUJON (App L. Rolls) and THE GREEK GOD all had to be severely checked to avoid that horse. HI SPIRIT was euthanaised on humane grounds.

GYPSY FORTUNE (D. Barron) raced wide throughout the event.



Race 5: IGA Truly Tender Meats Class 4 H’Cap – 1300m.
1st – Social Gathering 2nd – Nala 3rd – In Order 4th – Art Student

LEELINCHIN (App M. Hackett) shifted out at the start and made contact with ART STUDENT (D. Tanti) which in turn shifted out and bumped NAWAAF (App L. Rolls).

D. Tanti the rider of ART STUDENT was obliged to stop riding his mount approaching the finishing line when IN ORDER (App O. Turpin) shifted in slightly.

A postrace veterinary examination of LEELINCHIN revealed the mare to be mildly sore in the off foreleg. Stable representative for trainer B. Guy was advised that a veterinary clearance will be required prior to it’s next race start.

SMASH ‘N’ GRAB lost it’s off hind shoe in running.



Race 6: IGA Distribution Class 6 H’Cap – 900m.
1st – In My Sights 2nd – Conrod Straight 3rd – Onedin Line 4th – Maxy Legs

MAXY LEGS (App O. Turpin) blundered on jumping away and in doing so shifted in and bumped AFFECTED (App W. Pearson).

AFFECTED commenced to hang out leaving the 600m until near the 350m. A postrace veterinary examination of AFFECTED failed to reveal any abnormality.






Race 7: Black And Gold Class 1 H’Cap – 1400m.
1st – Dalcolo 2nd – Fond Bond 3rd – Mistress Quickly 4th – Pavlichenko

KNIGHTS EAGLE (App W. Pearson) which reared up in the barrier stalls was declared a late scratching by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice at 4.4.7 p.m. Prior to the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on KNIGHTS EAGLE were ordered to be refunded. All winning bets were ordered to be paid less 12 cents in the dollar for a win and 11 cents in the dollar for a place on the face value of the ticket. Trainer M. Eggleston was advised that KNIGHTS EAGLE must perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial before being permitted to race again.

MULTI MILLIONS (D. Tanti) was slow to begin.

DALCOLO (D. Craven) blundered on jumping away.

SHAZEFF (C. Eaton) and LIONATAQ (K. Pope) were tightened for room on jumping away between FOND BOND (T. Treichel) and AWASE OUGI (A. Best) both of which shifted ground.

MISS CANUNGRA (P. Hammersley) raced wide in the early stages.
