TESTA LEONE raced ungenerously in the early stages and was inclined to lay out for the majority of the event.

Near the 350m EVERY WHICH WAY (App. M Palmer) shifted out to improve and in doing so took DR DUJON (App. L Rolls) out on to DADDY FRANK.

Rounding the first turn MIRABOO (G McCarthy) shifted in despite the efforts of its rider, tightening the running of WULLKURAKA which had to be steadied.

DAYLIGHT DANCE (D Griffin) and BAY LADY PAY (D Barron) raced wide for the majority of the event.

Near the 800m MEGABOY improved up on to the heels of MIRABOO and had to be steadied.

Near the 350m MEGABOY shifted out to improve and in doing so made contact with BAY LADY PAY which in turn shifted out taking DAYLIGHT DANCE (D Griffin) out on to ROCK AWAY THE DAYS (App. M Palmer).

Approaching the 200m MEGABOY again shifted out hampering BAY LADY PAY.

ROCK AWAY THE DAYS shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.

Leaving the 900m GALANGAL (S Campton) improved up on to the heels of BIANSMART (App. K Cunningham) and shifted out taking ASTRAL TRAVEL wider on the track.

When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of POST ON TYNE, Jockey D Griffin stated that he was able to position the horse just off the speed and it travelled well until near the 400m where POST ON TYNE was under pressure and failed to respond to his riding thereafter. Jockey Griffin further stated that the only explanation he was able to offer is that the gelding did not appreciate racing inside other horses today, however, felt POST ON TYNE was disappointing. Trainer M Thexton stated that POST ON TYNE worked well leading up to today’s event and she was at a loss to explain the disappointing performance. Ms Thexton advised Stewards that she would have her stable vet inspect POST ON TYNE in the next 24 hours and advise Stewards of anything which may explain the gelding’s performance today.
