After questioning Trainer Ms J Smith regarding the reason for the late scratching of DYSOBAY from the Gold Coast meeting on Saturday 11 September 2010, Stewards were satisfied there were mitigating circumstances and took no further action.

Race 1 - Mr B Currie, Trainer of EMERALD ISLE was fined the sum of $100 for the late scratching notification of that horse at 7.44 am.

1st – Ourmaninamsterdam 2nd – Dance Request 3rd – Yamacutta 4th – Thormanby
DANCE REQUEST (K Forrester) began awkwardly and shifted out making contact with THORMANBY (App. M Wood).
ARCHULETA (J P Stanley) and WACHEEM (K Pope) were slow to begin.
WACHEEM over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event.
Near the 900m ROYAL PAGE BOY (G Lynch) over-raced at the heels of OURMANINAMSTERDAM (J Bowditch) and shifted out taking DANCE REQUEST wider on the track.
SON OF RANIERA (B Hull) raced wide for the majority of the event.
App. M Wood rider of THORMANBY reported that the gelding was inclined to lay in over the final 600m.
When questioned regarding the tactics adopted on OURMANINAMSTERDAM today compared to the tactics adopted at the horse’s only previous start, Jockey J Bowditch said the instructions were to have the horse in a mid to forward position, however, when caught wide in the early stages and with no significant pace, he allowed OURMANINAMSTERDAM to stride forward which resulted in the gelding obtaining a position in the lead. Stewards noted his explanation.
Race 2: Spring Racing Restaurant Dining & Functions Available Fillies & Mares Maiden Plate – 1400m
1st – Elusivity 2nd – Ceramic 3rd – Geneva Gold 4th – Joyful Lady
Mr S Hunter Trainer of TRUST IN ME which proved difficult to load and bucked at the start was advised that the horse must obtain 2 further Barrier Certificates before again racing, 1 of which must be obtained in an official barrier trial.
SANCY DIAMOND (JP Stanley) and GREEN RIVER (G Lynch) were slow to begin.
Near the 900m GREEN RIVER shifted in making contact with the running rail. ANGEL GAL (D Tanti) which was trailing had to be steadied as a consequence and shifted out taking TOUCHWOOD (J Bowditch) and LITTLE ROSIE (App. A Badger) wider on the track.
GENEVA GOLD (App. M Wood) was inclined to over-race in the early stages of the event.
GENEVA GOLD was held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
SECOND ATTEMPT (D Craven) had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the straight and approaching the 200m was tightened for room and had to be steadied when disappointed for a run between JOYFUL LADY (C Whiteley) and SHADOW STAR (K Fujii) which shifted out.
Near the 300m ANGEL GAL shifted out to improve and in doing so bumped CHAPTER (App. M Okada).
A post-race veterinary examination of ELUSIVITY (App. B Looker) revealed the mare to have been galloped on the off hind canon.

1st – Phantomoftheopera 2nd – Haulage 3rd – Sheer Echelon 4th – Stephen Got Even
SHEER ECHELON (App. O Turpin) began awkwardly and shifted in making contact with ANN OF ROSEBROOK (J Bowditch) which in turn shifted in on to STEPHEN GOT EVEN (K Pope).
HAULAGE (App. M Wood) jumped away awkwardly.
SAVOIR FLAIR (K Fujii) was slow to begin.
EXCEPTIONALHONOUR (P Timbery) and PHANTOMOFTHEOPERA (App. B Looker) both made contact on jumping away.
STEPHEN GOT EVEN (K Pope) had a tendency to get its head up in the air and race ungenerously in the early stages of the event.
Near the 1000m SAVOIR FLAIR improved up on to the heels of ANN OF ROSEBROOK and had to be steadied and shifted out. SAVOIR FLAIR then raced wide for the remainder of the event.
HAULAGE was caught racing wide for the majority of the event.
Near the 500m STEPHEN GOT EVEN improved up on to the heels of EXCEPTIONAL HONOUR and had to be steadied.
Leaving the 300m the saddle of EXCEPTIONAL HONOUR (P Timbery) shifted to the off side placing the rider at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
It was reported that THREE RED ROSES (B Hull) lost its off hind shoe in running.
Race 4: AFL Grand Final Party Saturday 25 September At The Club Class 1 H’cap – 1800m
1st – Divine Cash 2nd – Delezio 3rd – More More More 4th – Sir Grahame
The start of this race was delayed as a result of COURTNEY’S WISH (App. B Wallace) having to be re-saddled at the barriers.
THE MARAIS (J Bowditch) and WHISPERING ACT (C Small) were slow to begin.
SIR GRAHAME (App. M Wood) and DELEZIO (App. B Looker) made contact on jumping away.
When the pace of the race eased near the 1300m DELEZIO shifted out from the heels of DIVINE CASH (B Hull) and in doing so forced PICCALI (D Tanti) and WILD WILD ROSE (D Green) wider on the track.
LUNAMEZZA (M Radecker) raced wide for the majority of the event.
MORE MORE MORE (D Griffin) was held up for clear running and unable to improve rounding the home turn.
Race 5:Spring High Tea Saturday 9th October Class 2 H’cap – 1100m
1st – Well Satisfied 2nd – Smart ‘N’ Crafty 3rd – Snippets Secret 4th – Hashasan
MONCHING (D Griffin) began awkwardly.
WELL SATISFIED (C Whiteley) was slow to begin.
SNIPPETS SECRET (K Yoshida), MONCHING and WELL SATISFIED raced wide throughout the event.
WARANDO STREET (App. B Wallace) was held up for clear running near the 500m when caught behind the tiring MONTY ROYAL (M Radecker).
SMART ‘N’ CRAFTY (J Bowditch) was held up for clear running rounding the home turn until leaving the 200m.
HASHASAN (JP Stanley) and MONCHING came together and bumped leaving the 300m.
WARANDO STREET had difficulty obtaining clear running from entering the home straight until approaching the 100m.
HASHASAN and MONCHING came together and bumped again near the 200m.
Near the 200m SMART ‘N’ CRAFTY and EMERALD ISLE (App. B Looker) were tightened for room when racing to the inside of SNIPPETS SECRET (K Yoshida) which shifted in. Jockey Yoshida was reprimanded for failing to take sufficient measures at that point to prevent SNIPPETS SECRET from laying in.
It was reported that TOAST OF DUBAI (App. M Wood) lost its off hind shoe in running.
Race 6: International Raceday Saturday 30th October Class 1 H’cap – 1300m
1st – Danagaze 2nd – Kasafuego 3rd – Lerocks 4th – Hyacinths’N’Honey
As Jockey D Barron was indisposed through injury, Jockey D Green replaced him as rider on IDLE RICH.
HYACINTHS’N’HONEY (C Whiteley) was inspected by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers after there were concerns with the horse’s action. However, after examination the horse was passed fit to start.
SHEOAK AVENUE (K Forrester) was a late scratching at 3.35 pm on veterinary advice after the horse injured its hind leg when it kicked out in the barrier stalls. Prior to the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on SHEOAK AVENUE were ordered to be refunded. All winning bets were ordered to be paid less 9 cents in the dollar for a win and 10 cents for a place on the face value of the ticket.
HARFORD STREET (D Tanti) began awkwardly.
FASTWAY (M Radecker) shifted in at the start making contact with LEROCKS (D Craven).
Leaving the 900m IDLE RICH (D Green) and HYACINTHS’N’HONEY were both tightened for room when racing to the inside of ILLUDE (J Bowditch) which laid in.
DIVA DANCE (K Pope) raced ungenerously throughout the event and approaching the 800m shifted out abruptly taking DANAGAZE (App. B Looker) wider on the track.
DIVA DANCE must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards before again racing. It was reported that DIVA DANCE lost its near fore shoe in running.
FASTWAY raced wide throughout the event.
KASAFUEGO (K Fujii) had a tendency to hang out in the middle stages of the event and as a consequence IDLE RICH and HARFORD STREET which were trailing had to be steadied approaching the 600m.
A post race veterinary examination of HYACINTHS’N’HONEY revealed the mare to be sore in the near fore leg. A veterinary certificate of fitness must be obtained before the mare again races.
Race 7: Melbourne Cup Packages Available Now Class 3 Plate – 1400m
1st – Sequiz 2nd – Warringah 3rd – No Limitation 4th – Nicaise
CRIMSON FIRE (App. B Wallace) was slow to begin.
Near the 1000m THE ROMAN (J Bowditch) shifted in and made contact with the running rail and as a result THE ROMAN then shifted out taking ARDMILAN (App. A Badger) wider on the track. ARDMILAN was then obliged to race wide for the majority of the event.
SILVER WHISPER (K Forrester) had a tendency to hang out leaving the 800m.
Race 8: BMW Magic Millions Raceday – Packages Now Available class 5 H’cap – 1200m
1st – Stoner 2nd – Majestic Ruler 3rd – Sequential Point 4th – Double Heart
STEFENICK (K Forrester) and LOVMIEKO (App. B Wallace) were slow to begin.
STONER (K Fujii) blundered on jumping away.
Approaching the 600m SEQUENTIAL POINT (D Tanti) improved up on to the heels of MAJESTIC RULER (C Small) and had to be steadied.
ONE EYED (App. O Turpin) was held up for clear running near the 200m until leaving the 100m.
GENERAL
Stewards questioned App. M Wood regarding him claiming only 1 kg of his 1½ kg allowance in Races 5 (TOAST OF DUBAI), 6 (SPECIAL AURA) and 8 (ROCK RAVE). After considering his explanation Stewards felt there were mitigating circumstances and took no action against App. Wood at this time.
