GLADSTONE TURF CLUB STEWARDS REPORT

General
App Jockey N Nelson was fined the sum of $100:00 under the provisions of Lr 51 (1) when she failed to fulfil a riding engagement at Rockhampton on the 10th May 2003.
Trainer M Brown was fined the sum of $50:00 under the provisions of Lr 42 (2) for failing to provide a stable return by the prescribed time.

RACE 1: CLASS 4H'CAP –850 MTRS (6 STARTERS)
Grey Commander (J Daggan) broke through the barriers prior to the start and was quickly restrained by his rider. Grey Commander was passed fit to race by the club vet before taking its place in the field.
Grey Commander slipped as the start was affected.

RACE 2: OPEN H'CAP – 1000 MTRS (6 STARTERS)
No incidents to report.

RACE 3: MAIDEN H'CAP –1000 MTRS (10 STARTERS)
Punters Reward was declared a late scratching by stewards @ 12:46 as a result of no rider being available.
Evening Express (N Nelson) dipped noticeably at the 250mtr. Evening Express (N Nelson) drifted outwards in the straight when placed under pressure.

RACE 4: CLASS 6 H'CAP – ( 5 STARTERS)
At about the 400mtr’s Western Rouge (J Stephens) was tightened for room as a result of pressure from Formal Affair (J Dagan) who was racing on the outside shifting inwards, and Bonza King (A Butler) who was racing on the inside shifting outwards slightly.

RACE 5: CLASS 1 H'CAP –( 6 STARTERS)
Jockey A Butler replaced T Kruger as the rider of Woznme when T Kruger was too ill to complete her riding engagements.
Diamond Wings (W Schmidt) proved difficult to load, then as the start was affected was slow away. Western Downs (D Bird) and Woznme (A Butler) brushed at the 100mtrs.



ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED WITH SAMPLES OBTAINED FORWARDED TO THE RACING SCIENCE CENTRE FOR ANALYSIS.
