GENERAL REPORT;
Apprentice Kelly Smith reported indisposed and replaced by D Gill on MULHALIA in Race 5 and D Van Bekkum on YARPOLE in Race 6.
RACE 1: CLASS 6 HCAP – 850 METRES (7 STARTERS)
RITE TO SUCCESS was slowly away and failed to handle the track.
GREY COMMANDER raced wide on the home turn.
RACE 2: CLASS 5 HANDICAP – 1517 METRES (8 STARTERS)
BAYARDO was laying on the side of the stalls and jumped in the air as the gates opened losing ground.
MISS COMET SHINE fractious in the stalls.
BOSUN’S PIPER knuckled over at the start.
WATSFORD’S GOLD shifted in shortly after the start inconveniencing BOSUN’S PIPER.
RACE 3: MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 METRES (6 STARTERS)

RACE 5: CUB NEWMARKET H’CAP – 1194 METRES (10 STARTERS)
An enquiry was held into alleged interference to TOTAL GLANCE shortly after the start.
Bruce Rhodes, the rider of BRILYNTON, was charged with careless riding in that he allowed his mount to shift in and take the running of TOTAL GLANCE in the run to the first turn. Stewards found B Rhodes guilty of the charge and suspended him from riding in races up to and including 19th August 2003.
RACE 6: CLASS B HANDICAP – 1000 METRES (9 STARTERS)
PAPERBACK HERO suffered a minor injury to the off hind during the running of the race.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
THREE (3) BOOKMAKERS FIELDED AT THE MEETING.
