Correct weight was delayed while stewards ascertained whether CHUNG LING had been afforded a fair start. Just prior to the start being affected CHUNG LING turned its head to the side resulting in CHUNG LING being slow away, given the circumstances stewards deemed that CHUNG LING had been afforded a fair start and correct weight was given. Jockey R Hall, the rider of CHUNG LING reported that after the bad start CHUNG LING failed to take up a handy position in the field.
Approaching the home turn SHOKUR (M Stephens) was inclined to lay out taking BON SIMONE(C Beets) and BOMBADIL (M Evans) wider.
