Race 1: MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres
1st: Run Like Blazes 2nd: Let’s Play Snap 3rd: Craiglea Sharp 4th: Kaaptivating
TTIPLER (M Radecker) was slow in to stride.
RUN LIKE BLAZES (L Timson) shifted in making contact with CRAILEA SHARP (T Kruger) at approx the 200m.
During the running YOU’RE A DANCER fractured it’s near side fetlock and had to be euthanised. App C McIver took a harmless tumble from YOU’RE A DANCER. App C McIver was examined by ambulance officer and cleared to ride.

Race 2: CLASS 5 HANDICAP - 1194 metres
1st: King Hal 2nd: Let’s Reconsider 3rd: In Cobargo (nz) 4th: Pack Of Gold
When questioned regarding the poor performance of EXEMPLITY, D Johnston stated that the horse traveled well early in the race but when placed under pressure from the home turn failed to run on. Trainer L Rodgers also stated that he felt the horse had pulled up in a distressed condition. Vet J Robinson examined and found that EXEMPLIFY had a mild colic condition and was subsequently treated.

Race 3: CLASS B HANDICAP – 850 metres
1st: Crocodile Smile 2nd: Zoomerang 3rd: Bundy Rose 4th: Hula Express
As the gates opened DANATAL (D Carrigg) stepped back opening the back gate and took no part in the race. After viewing the film and taking evidence from the starter Mr B Lisle and App D Carrigg, Stewards declared DANATAL a non-starter. On announcement of correct weight a deduction of 12c for the win on the face value of the ticket and 14c for the place on the face value of the ticket. Stewards order that all monies invested on DANATAL to be refunded.




Race 4: HANDICAP - 1194 metres
1st: Dreams Of Wealth 2nd: Craiglea Ego 3rd: Spiritual Man 4th: Bosun’s Piper
PASSION POWER (S Quick) had to be checked at the start when DREAMS OF WEALTH (L Timson) jumped awkwardly and in.

Race 5: QRSE CLASS 3 HANDICAP - 1000 metres
1st: Buck’s Pearl 2nd: Crocodile Smile 3rd: Craiglea Helle 4th: Miss Kanoot
CROCODILE SMILE, which raced in race 3 was vetted and cleared to start.
Approaching the home turn MISS KANOOT (S Quick) tendered to lay out resulting in CRAIGLEA HELLE (T Kruger) having to be steadied.
