SUPPLEMENTRY REPORT

Rockhampton Saturday 13th March 2010 Race 4

Jockey M. Cant (THE PLATE) was reprimanded for use of the whip prior to the 100m in a forehand manner on more that 5 occasions.

GENERAL

As Apprentice K. Yoneyama had been injured in a track work incident and Jockey P. Randall was indisposed, rider replacements were made as per Stewards summary. Apprentice Yoneyama will require a medical clearance prior to his next riding engagements. Stewards will seek an explanation in relation to Jockey P. Randall being indisposed.

Race 1: Green Pepper Catering Class 4 Handicap- 1000 metres
1st –REGAL MOUNTAIN 2nd – AL THAT CASH 3rd – SUPER STROP 4th – MANDS BOND

Due to no available rider, Stewards declared TOKYO TANGO a late scratching at 12.00pm. As betting had not commenced, no deductions were required.

At the start, COUNTERSHY (S. Evans) jumped awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, LAZER EDGE commenced to race ungenerously and lost considerable ground and raced at the rear of the field. Stewards gave consideration to explanations from Trainer L. Kiernan and Jockey D. Whitmore and placed a warning against the gelding for its racing manners.

ALL THAT CASH (S. Sheargold) raced in a 3 wide position in the early stages.

Race 2: Gladstone Harbour Festival Class 2 Handicap- 1194 metres
1st - GRAND MARK 2nd – ON THE MARK 3rd - CAN’T BE TOLD 4th – IN BOLD FASHION

MOLLO (M. Cant) and AUSSIE LUAU (S. Evans) raced wide for the majority of the event.

Jockey S. Evans reported that, in her opinion, AUSSIE LUAU had raced erratically with the blinkers on in this occasion.

A post-race veterinary inspection of STUNDER revealed the gelding was lame in the off foreleg. Trainer B. Challacombe stated it was his intention to retire STUNDER, however he was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to any further race engagements.

Jockey M. Cant reported MOLLO had been distressed on pulling up. A post-race veterinary inspection revealed the mare had a poor post race recovery and had bled from the off side nostril. After Stewards inquired into this incident, Trainer D. Schultz was advised that MOLLO would be required to gallop over 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to its next race start.

Race 3: QTIS Maiden Plate - 1194 metres
1st - KIWI RHYTHM 2nd – MORE THAN RUBIES 3rd – RULES ARE RULES 4th – LET’S GO LOCO

Trainer J. Pointon was fined $50 for late declaration of rider (LR 70) for LET’S GO LOCO.

RULES ARE RULES (A. Coome) raced 3 wide in the early stages.

Jockey S. Evans reported SET ME FREE failed to handle the sand track conditions.

Race 4: Emma Lenz Birthday Celebration Open Handicap- 1000 metres
1st – JYI’S PROSPECT 2nd – SCENT OF GOLD 3rd – SYMATINA 4th – COUNTY SHERRIF

Jockey M. Cant reported COUNTY SHERRIF had seemed to resent the sand coming back and had raced ungenerously from approximately the 850 metres until approximately the 250m when able to obtain clear running.

Race 5: Liz Bruce Birthday Celebration Class B Handicap- 1517 metres
1st - TIC TOC TIGER 2nd - MY BEAUTY 3rd – STACCATO 4th – LIKEABATOUTOFHELL

MY BEAUTY (M. Barnham) knuckled over on jumping away.

Jockey S. Evans (STACCATO) reported that the saddle had slipped back throughout the race and had rolled slightly in the straight which had placed her at a disadvantaged in being able to fully test the mare.
