Race 1: Kyle Hunt Maiden Plate- 1000 metres
1st –CRAFTY NUMBER 2nd – GIVE IM ZA 3rd – PRINCESS VELLA 4th – STAR STRATEGY
JEROBOAM (C. Beets) was slow to begin.
ANNIEHORSE (App C. Pye) jumped awkwardly, shifted in and lost ground. Apprentice Pye reported the mare resented the sand kicked back and steadily improved into the race.
Jockey D. Philpot (JULIA JET) was reprimanded for the use of her whip on more than 5 occasions (2 more) in a forehand manner prior to the 100 metres.
Race 2: Calliope Supa IGA Class 4 Handicap - 1000 metres
1st - BILLY THE MOUNTAIN 2nd – DEXTRUS 3rd – ZAHOO 4th – COUNTERSHY
MANDS BONDS (M. Barnham) was slow to begin and lost valuable ground and raced at the rear of the field throughout.
ZAHOO (M. Cant) raced wide throughout.
Race 3: Dermotique Class B Handicap - 1517 metres
1st –BACK STAGE 2nd – BRAVE THE BOSS 3rd – BIG WILL 4th – OWIE
Acting on a confirmed phone call from Trainer L. Rowe, Stewards declared INDIANA a late scratching at 12.25pm when the gelding suffered minor injuries en route to the course and had become fractious and was unable to be transported further. No deductions were required.
GRAND TURK (M. Cant) jumped awkwardly and raced wide throughout the race.
In the early stages of the race, BIG WILL (App C. Pye) lay in, and at approximately the 1200 metres, become unbalanced and bumped OWIE (App K Yoneyama)
Race 4: CQP Open Handicap - 1000 metres
1st –REGAL MOUNTAIN 2nd – COLUMNATE 3rd – DANZAMONKEY 4th – CLASSY CRYSTAL
The start of the race was delayed approximately 5 minutes as the on-course ambulance was unable to be started. This ambulance was removed from the course proper and the ambulance personnel attended the start and followed the field in a Club provided vehicle. Prior to the start, an alternative ambulance had arrived on course.
RUBY FRISCO (R. Hall) jumped awkwardly and lost some ground and raced at the rear of the field.
From approximately the 800 metres to the 400 metres, DANZAMONKEY (App F Freihaut) hung out and this resulted in COLUMNATE (M .Barnham) being taken wide on the track.
HARDLY A GAME (M. Cant) raced wide throughout.
REGAL MOUNTAIN (App A Taylor) raced in a 4 wide position for the majority of the race.
Race 5: Fantasy Rags Class 2 Handicap - 1194 metres
1st - OLD FLAME 2nd – NOAH’S SMILE 3rd - HEZA OUTLAW 4th – LOLA BRIGIDA
Shortly after the start, IN BOLD FASHION (M. Cant) commenced to buck and took no further competitive part in the race. Trainer M. Barham was advised the mare would be required to pass a trial to the Steward’s satisfaction prior to its next race start.
HEZA OUTLAW (App C. Pye) was a little slow to begin.
At approximately the 850 metres, NOAH’S SMILE (App K Yoneyama) shifted wider on the track and HEZA OUTLAW was taken out and raced wide for the remainder of the race.
At approximately the 200 metres, NOAH’S SMILE lay in behind OLD FLAME and had to be straightened.
A post-race veterinary inspection of BERRIMA BOOGIE (App K. Cross) did not reveal any apparent abnormalities.
