Trainer D Schultz pleaded guilty to a charge under LR43 in that he allowed an unlicensed person to ride trackwork at Gladstone on Monday 17th October 2011. Mr Schultz was fined $300.

Race 1: CQP Calliope Class 3 Plate - 1000 metres
1st NEVACANTEL 2nd WE WILL ROCK 3rd COCKTAIL ROSE 4th- TIDY TRIM

As no barrier blankt was available, stewards permitted THE CONDOR (L Dillon) to be loaded last.

THE CONDOR was slightly fractious in the barriers and jumped awkwardly.

TIDY TRIM (K Cross) was slow away and raced wide throughout.

On returning to the enclosure it was observed THE CONDOR had blood present in its near side nostril. Trainer A. Suli was advised that gelding must gallop over 1000m in the presence of a steward prior to its next start.


Race 2: Aaron McKenzie Maiden Plate - 1000 metres
1st SUGAR DIAMOND 2nd BOSTON PRINCE 3rd ALL BAR NONE 4th- CHICAMONI

CRAIGLEA CALIPSO (A Taylor) jumped awkwardly.

SUGAR DIAMOND (S Sheargold) raced wide throughout.

CHICAMONI (C Pye) hung out rounding the home turn.

At approximately 100m BOSTON PRINCE (K Cross) shifted out under pressure and bumped SUGAR DIAMOND.

Trainer L Clem reported that TRIPLE CENTURY (D Philpot) may have got its tongue over the bit. He stated it would be his intention to apply a tongue tie prior to the geldings next start.


Race 3: Central Queensland Petroleum Open Handicap- 850 metres
1st– ZAHOO 2nd – DINERO RAPIDO 3rd REGAL MOUNTAIN 4th- MYSTIC MOUNTAIN

MYSTIC MOUNTAIN (C Pye) blundered as the gates opened.

REGAL MOUNTAIN (A Taylor) raced wide throughout.

At approximately the 400m SCENT OF GOLD (S Sheargold) rolled in onto MYSTIC MOUNTAIN, when corrected SCENT OF GOLD has shifted out and bumped DINERO RAPIDO (K Cross) and REGAL MOUNTAIN.

Race 4: Karen Dahtler Class 1 Handicap - 1194 metres
1st ANGEL PLACE 2nd GET DITTY WITH IT 3rd KINGS LOVE 4th – MONNAMEE

MONASHEE EXPRESS was declared a late scratching at 1:50pm after failing a veterinary examination. Deductions were not required as betting had not commenced. Trainer M Barnham was advised that he would have to furnish a vet certificate prior to the gelding’s next start.

LAST RITES (S McGovern) and CRAIGLEA PRISTINE (A Taylor) both raced wide throughout.

Race 5: CQP South Gladstone Class B Handicap- 1517 metres
1st SARBI 2nd INALA ROYALE 3rd MAID OF SEVENS 4th- CRAIGLEA HUSSY

KISS THIS SPOT (D Philpot) jumped out and bumped CRAIGLEA HUSSY (A Taylor) at the start.

CRAIGLEA HUSSY raced wide early.

SARBI (L Dillon) raced ungenerously in the middle stages.
