Race 1: Phil Pengelly Class 2 Handicap- 1517 metres
1st CALLY GREENLAKE 2nd GHIACCIO 3rd WILLSEEYOU 4th- THREE FINGERS

Prior to the start GHIACCIO (L Dillon) became fractious and when the start was effected reared and unbalanced Jockey Dillon and as a result GHIACCIO lost considerable ground. Trainer T Cook was advised that a warning be placed on GHIACCIO’S barrier manners.

Race 2: Dennis Schultz Class B Handicap- 1194 metres
1st FOMAL WINTER 2nd SPARTANEOUS 3rd MUSICA 4th- KYEEBI CASHEL

Nil racing incidents.

Race 3: Bruce Davis QTIS Maiden Plate - 1194 metres
1st– RED ACE 2nd – HARD TO HANDLE 3rd WHO’S THE DUDE NOW 4th- CRAIGLEA BARKLY

DOMINEERING (S McGovern), SUIME ROSE (T Bannon) and TALLEGALLA (C McIver) all raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 1000m RED ACE (L Dillon) shifted out and bumped CRAIGLEA BARKLY (L Henry) which made the turn awkwardly.


Race 4: Kim McArdle Maiden Plate- 850 metres
1st MINTO’S DREAM 2nd UKOK LASS 3rd BONNAY FLYER 4th – CRITTER

THE KINGS JESTER (L Dillon) was slow away.

MISS GARRMOUR (C McIver) jumped awkwardly.

BONNAY FLYER (C Pye) raced wide throughout.

MINTO’S DREAM (T Bannon) raced greenly in the straight and was inclined to shift out under pressure over the concluding stages.

Jockey Dillon reported THE KING’S JESTER did not hand the sand surface. A subsequent vet inspection revealed no abnormalities. Trainer A Johnson was advised that a warning be placed on THE KING’S JESTER regarding its competitiveness.

Race 5: Lee Kiernan Open Handicap- 850 metres
1st WHITE CAP 2nd TWOGUNDAN 3rd NEVACANTEL 4th- BILLY THE MOUNTAIN

Jockey D Whitmore was permitted to ride NEVACANTEL 1kg overweight due to no other riders available at the allotted weight.

TIDY TRIM (C McIver) was slow away.

NEVACANTEL (D Whitmore) blundered shortly after the start.

ZAHOO (L Henry) was inspected by the vet upon returning to the enclosure and was found to be lame in the off fore leg. Trainer D Schultz was advised that a vet certificate would be required prior to the entire’s next start.

D. Gill, rider of TWOGUNDAN, was reprimanded for excessive use of her whip.
