RACE 1. HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY MAC ZIMMERMAN CLASS 2 HCP 1800M
1st HOT CHOCOLAT 2nd TAYSTAR 3rd BILODEAU 4th CUBAN
FLIPPIN MARVELLOUS (Appr. T Serjeant) was fractious in the starting stalls.
CUBAN (G Geran) jumped inwards at the start and was crowded by HOT CHOCOLAT (Appr S Fawke) in the early stages.
CRAFTY’S LAST (Appr L TILLEY) pulled hard down the straight the first time and shifted out rounding the first turn.
At the 400m CRAFTY’S LAST shifted out several horses causing CUBAN to be eased off that runners heels. Apprentice L Tilley was reprimanded for not making enough effort to correct his mount.
TAYSTAR (B Thomson) ran wide on the turn out of the straight.
RACE 2. GOONDIWINDI INDUSTRIAL SUPPLIERS CLASS B HCP 1200M
1st REALEE 2nd BEYOND IMAGINATION 3rd MR DEEKAY 4th LAGO BEN
LUCK FROM ABOVE (S Apthorpe) was slow to jump.
SKILFUL PAT (Appr. B Newport) jumped with its head in the air.
Approaching the 700m SKILFUL PAT was eased from the heels of LARGO BEN (Appr. T Serjeant ).
Jockey G Geran reported that BEYOND IMAGINATION had a tendency to lay out throughout the race.
WINNING APPROACH (W Abbey) raced wide for the entire race.
REALEE (Appr L Tilley) shifted in sharply under pressure down the running with no inconvenience to any other runners. Stewards showed L Tilley the patrol footage of his riding.
RACE 3. INGLEWOOD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CUP OPEN HCP 1200m
1st CHEQUE FOR FREEDOM 2nd I’M THE ONE 3rd CASH IN A HURRY 4th DOM PAOLO
CANADIAN JOY (Appr. J Letherby) raced wide throughout.
JOPPICK (P Payne) shifted out over the last 50m.
CHEQUE FOR FREEDOM (Appr. S Fawke) shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages.
RACE 4. GOONDIWINDI RETAIL &HOSPITALITY OUTLETS BENCHMARK 65 HCP 1000m
1st WINNING DREAMS 2nd WHY WARRIOR 3rdSILKY SKILLS 4th UNIVERSAL HAT
NOSHOWS (Appr S Fawke) was difficult to load. A warning was placed on NOSHOWS barrier manners.
NOSHOWS was slow to jump and raced tailed off. A subsequent veterinary inspection revealed no abnormalities.
WHY WARRIOR (B Powell) jumped outwards contacting SILKY SKILLS (Appr. L Tilley).
WINNING DREAMS (Appr. J Letherby) shifted out sharply at the 200m.
RACE 5 COMBINED HOTELIERS MAIDEN HCP 1400m
1st IMA LITTLE EXCITED 2ndITALIAN ROSE 3rd SAUVIGNON BLANC 4th ZEDARK
DAME DELLA (B Powell) reared in the starting stalls and become cast when it’s off fore leg became caught on the front of the barriers. After some considerable time, DAME DELLA was removed from the barriers. Stewards ordered that the mare be withdrawn at 4.40pm.
Deductions as follows:
IMA LITTLE EXCITED - 36 cents WIN 31cents PLACE
ITALIAN ROSE - 30 cents PLACE
All monies invested on DAME DELLA refunded.
A veterinary inspection of DAME DELLA revealed no apparent injuries.
