Race 1: MAKIM CARTER BUILDERS H’CAP – 1800M
1st ELLIE LA VIE 2ND CROSS THE STAR 3RD CUBAN 4TH TANZINA

EASY LAGER (Holt) was slow to begin.

CROSS THE STAR (R. Ride) raced wide for the majority of the race.

R. Goltz, the rider of ELLIE LA VIE, was found guilty of a charge to careless riding in that near the 300m he permitted ELLIE LA VIE to shift in under hard riding when insufficiently clear of EASY LAGER (A. Holt) which as a result had to be checked. R. Goltz license to ride in races for a period of 6 meetings to commence Midnight 1 April 2013 and to expire Midnight 11 April 2013.

R. Ride, the rider of CROSS THE STAR, was severely reprimanded in that she permitted her mount to shift in after passing the winning post hampering TANZINA (S. Bogenhuber) and TELESIUS (k. Yoshida).

Race 2: ARCHIE BISHOP JEWELLERY & GIFTS/BISHOPS NEWXPRESS MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M
1ST PERFECT RAINBOW 2ND CAIPTAN SPUR 3RD SAN TORO 4TH LIKE BRAND NEW

Stewards declared THAT’S WHATYOUNEED a late withdrawal at 12.55 pm when that runner failed to arrive on course due to transport difficulties. As betting had not commenced, no deductions applied.

The start was delayed when LIKE BRAND NEW proved difficult to load. Trainer S. Iverson was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.

FINGERS IN THE TILL (D. Robinson) was slow to begin.

LIKE BRAND NEW (J. Warrington) which was fractious in the barriers began awkwardly blundered on jumping away.


Race 3: RAILWAY HOTEL BRISBANE BLOODSTOCK QTIS BONUS 2YO MAIDEN H’CAP – 1000M
1ST LA MINA 2ND TURTLE MAN 3RD PICK AND RUN 4TH SAINTLY PRINCESS

FEROCIOUS JEWEL was declared a late scratching at 1.52pm by order of stewards after dislodging its rider (S. Bogenhuber) during the preliminary. Prior to correct weight, all monies invested on FEROCIOUS JEWEL were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to successful wagers placed prior to the withdrawal time.

0 cents in the dollar for the win of La Mina
8 cents in the dollar for place of winner La Mina
4 cents in the dollar for 2nd place Turtle Man
No third dividend for 3rd place Pick And Run

Trainer J. Curtain was advised that FEROCIOUS JEWEL must perform to the satisfaction of stewards in an official barrier trial before being permitted to race again. S. Bogenhuber was transported to Goondiwindi Hospital on precautionary grounds and was replaced for her remaining rides as per stewards summary sheet.

TURTLE MAN (T. Treichel) which was slow to begin was further inconvenienced when tightened for room between LA MINA (R. Goltz) and PICK AND RUN (K. Yoshida) which jumped outwards.

Race 4: BAHRAM STUD & TRAINING CENTRE CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1000M
1ST INFAMOUS 2ND INNISVALE 3RD IN MY FACE 4TH KLUBBITT

As J. Warrington was to be overweight as the rider of GET ‘EM GOIN’ he was replaced by K. Yoshida. Due to his unblemished record in regards to this rule J. Warrington was issued with a reprimand.

INFAMOUS (N. Nishio) was slow to begin.

GET ‘EM GOIN’ (K. Yoshida) jumped in at the start making contact with KLUBBITT (B. Newport).

After the running of this race stewards upgraded the track to a slow 7.


Race 5: CROPLANDS EQUIPMENT/BLACK TRUCK & AG MAIDEN H’CAP – 1400M
1st STORM MAGIC 2ND DELUSIVE 3RD GRAND DUKE 4TH LETS THINKABOUT IT

A post-race veterinary examination of HIGH STRENGTH which was having it's first run for a significant period of time, passed the gelding to race.

HIGH STRENGTH (R. Ride) was slow to begin.

SWEET DISORDER (S. Apthorpe) was tightened for room at the start between GRAND DUKE (A. Holt) and DELUSIVE (N. Evans) both of which shifted ground.

LE BONX CHONX (A. Taylor) made the 1300m crossing awkwardly.

LE BONX CHONX and LETS THINKABOUT IT (K. Yoshida) raced wide for the majority of the race.

After the running of this race stewards upgraded the track to a slow 6.


Race 6: AGPRO SERVICES CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1400M
1st SANDY VIEW 2ND HI HI 3RD REALEE 4TH CARRY THE PRESENT

The start of this race was delayed when FLYING PENNANT (T. Treichel) proved difficult to load. Trainer P. Webster was advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s barrier manners.

REALEE which competed at Flinton Race Club Saturday 30 March was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

LE MAX (S. Apthorpe) and CARRY THE PRESENT (S. Fawke) over raced in the early stages of the race.

HI HI (B. Newport) hung in under pressure over the concluding stages.

HI HI and JUST ELVIS (R. Ride) both raced wide for the majority of the race.

N. Evans, the rider of SANDY VIEW was reprimanded for negligence when weighing out, in that he failed to use the correct race sponsor’s coloured saddle cloth.

R.Goltz the rider of DASSAULT, reported his mount did not begin well and never really travelled throughout the race. He added that while DASSAULT made up some ground in the straight, the gelding was not comfortable on today’s track conditions.

S. Apthorpe the rider of LE MAX, reported his mount over raced in the early stages and in his opinion did not handle today’s track conditions.


Race 7: TAIT AUTO GROUP COUNTRY QUEENSLAND SHOWCASE BENCHMARK 79 H’CAP – 1200M
1st SEZWHO 2ND CONVICTOR 3RD KUMALI 4TH KISS ME DEADLY

As L. Tarrant was not riding at today’s meeting he was replaced by B. Newport as the rider of CONVICTOR.

SHAKES (S. Apthorpe) was slow to begin.

CONVICTOR (B. Newport) which began awkwardly and lost ground, then raced wide for the majority of the race.

CHEQUE FOR FREEDOM (S. Fawke) raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race.

A.Holt the rider of KUMALI was reprimanded for failing to ride his mount out to the finish line.

T. Treichel the rider of OLYMPIA’S FLAME reported his mount showed early speed however never travelled comfortably and was under pressure from the 600m. A post race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration in the off side nostril with a drop of blood present. As this finding was due to external trauma no further action was taken.
