GREGORY DOWNS JOCKEY CLUB STEWARDS REPORT SATURDAY 4/5/02

STEWARDS PANEL: C Waters Chairman Ms G McHugh (Cadet)

WEATHER –FINE TRACK –GOOD RAIL – N/A

RACE 1: CLASS “4” HANDICAP – 1200 METRES

At the start TYKE MY SON threw it’s head in the air and lost ground.

RACE 2: CLASS “2” HANDICAP – 1200 METRES

As a start was effected SADEEQ took a step backwards as the gates opened subsequently, the horse lost considerable ground.

RACE 3: - WEIGHT FOR AGE – 1200 METRES

ARGOLD was very slow into stride.

RACE 4: - MAIDEN HANDICAP – 800 METRES

MORNING CHARIOT which was having its first race start, was extremely slow into stride. TAIL TWISTER jumped outwards at the start.

RACE 5: - CLASS 6 HANDICAP – 1000 METRES

PERSIAN SPY was a late scratching at 12:30 by order of the Stewards acting on advice of the Club Veterinary surgeon after the horse was injured whilst being transported to the meeting. As Jockey I Coombes , the declared rider of HARBOUR was too light and unable to make the handicap weight of 63 kg on that runner, Stewards granted Trainer E G Snelling approval to substitute Jockey M Cummings for that runner with Jockey I Coombes, who took the mount on the stable mate TOMORROWS CHILD. HARBOUR returned to scale lame in the near front region following the event.

RACE 6: - CLASS 3 HANDICAP – 1000 METRES

PIMPALA GOVERNOR was very slow to begin.
