GENERAL REPORT:
Due to the failure of the House Of Brooks Photo Finish Equipment, Stewards acted under the terms of AR 8(a) to appoint the following Judges to adjudicate upon race finishing positions.
Judges:

Mr C.Barbagello
Mr R.Gudge
Mr C.Vains
Mr L.Oate
To assist the Judges, Stewards positioned a digital Video camera on the finish line.
The starting time for the first race was delayed due to attempts to rectify the problems with the Photo Finish Equipment.
As the horses were being loaded into the barriers, the photo finish equipment began to work, and a photo finish was available for all events on todays programme.

Race 1: Happy New Year Class 4 Handicap Distance - 1460m.
1st - TRICKY DICKY 2nd - TARA BRIGHT 3rd - HARRY THE WIZARD 4th- PICK ANOTHER
The starting time of this event was delayed due to the failure of the Photo Finish Equipment.
Horses were parading being paraded behind the barriers when Stewards were notified of the failure to the photo Finish Equipment, Stewards ordered that the horses be returned to the on course day stalls until the problem was resolved.
When being paraded HARRY THE WIZARD laid down in the enclosure. HARRY THE WIZARD under went a Veterinary inspection prior to leaving the Saddling enclosure and was passed fit to start.
PICK ANOTHER (S.Simon) hung inwards for the entire journey of the event.

Race 2: QRSE Cruising Into Christmas Class B Handicap Distance - 1180m.
1st - FRISKY SPRINGS 2nd - PEARL OF SANTOS 3rd - OBI WAN 4th- SOCIAL SWING
ROUGH EDGE (S.Simon) over raced and refused to settle in the early to middle stages of the event.
Stewards permitted Jockey W.Cullen to ride BLAZING ARROW 2kgs overweight as there was no other suitable rider available.

Race 3: Seasons Greetings Class 2 Handicap Distance - 1000m.
1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th-
FLASH TRACK (J.Stopps) was slow into stride when the gates opened.
INDIGESTION (F.Edwards) bucked for approximately the first 300mtrs of the event, resulting in Jockey F.Edwards being dislodged.
Mr Peter McArthur being the Stable the Stable Foreperson for Trainer John Peterson was advised that INDIGESTION is now barred from racing until such time as the horse can successfully pass TWO barrier trials to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
ZEDOLLARS (S.Simon) laid inwards under pressure over the concluding stages of the event.
Trainer Ray Walsh reported to the Stewards that MONTES MIGHT had returned to the enclosure with a laceration to the near hind leg.
After the running of this event, Jockey A.Cox informed the Stewards that he was ill.

Race 4: Happy Holidays Maiden Plate Distance - 900m.
1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th-
Both STORMY KELL (F.Edwards) and RUNNING SEA (W.Kenning) were late scratchings due to the respective Jockeys being indisposed and there being no other suitable rider available. No betting deductions were required.
At approximately the 700mtr mark LOVELY EMMA (J.Stopps) shifted inwards and inconvenienced DOLLAR SLOT (D.Lloyd) which in turn inconvenienced SIR DEMON (J.Long). Jockey J.Stopps was advised to show more care in the future.
MASTER SWORDSMAN (S.Simon) was inclined to run off the track at approximately the 500mtrs.
