After passing the winning post, the saddle of URBAN LASS slipped causing Jockey K.STONE considerable inconvenience and he was unable to pull the mare up and he was dislodged near the 700 metres. He was treated at the track and later transported to the Townsville Hospital for observation.

A post race veterinary examination of URBAN LASS failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

MISS MATAYA was a late scratching at 3.02pm when it was confirmed that Jockey K. STONE was unfit to complete any further riding engagements for the day, following injuries he received in the previous race. No other rider was available . Stewards ordered that all bets made on MISS MATAYA before 3.02pm be refunded and that all winning bets made before that time be paid less 23cents in the win and 23cents in the place on the face value of the ticket.

Jockey J. LONG was found Guilty of a breach of AR 137A(6) ,(Using the whip on more than five occasions prior to the 200 metres on MAIN GAME). He was fined his riding fee in respect to this breach.

A post race veternary examination of CENTGEORGE revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind fetlock.

Race 4: ALLAN HERRON CLASS “2”HANDICAP Distance - 1200m.
(5 Starters).
1st - ACADAMINE 2nd - LOST IN LOUISVILLE 3rd - RANGE ROVER 4th - TRICKY

WATCHA POCO was a late withdrawal at 3.02pm when no rider was available after Jockey K. Stone was injured in Race 2.

An objection was lodged by Ms R. Seymour, the rider of LOST IN LOUISVILLE the second placegetter, against ACADAMINE (J.Long), being declared the winner, alleging interference over the final 200 metres. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the video the Stewards dismissed the objection. Stewards found that ACADAMINE had shifted out in the final 200 metres resulting in LOST IN LOUISVILLE being taken wider on the track for some distance. Stewards did not believe that the inconvenience caused was sufficient to affect the placings, bearing in mind that the margin between the horses was a half length. Correct weight was declared. Jockey J.Long was advised to ensure that he keeps his mounts on a straight course in the future.

ALL WINNERS AND WESTERN WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
