Race 1: Ingham Farm Centre & Hinchinbrook Shire Council
QTIS Maiden Plate Distance - 1000m.
1st - Victory Beau 2nd - Yumiko 3rd - Guyalla 4th - Blowup Doll
It was noted that the advertised prizemoney in the race book for QTIS payments was incorrect, Stewards ordered that the necessary announcements be made to the Licensees to advise of the correct prizemoney as per the official approved programme as advertised in the official Qld Racing Calender.
As the start was effected GUYALLA (L.Buckingham) jumped outwards and made contact with CROSSING COUNTRY (J.Felix).
LET’S TWIST AGAIN (L.Nelson) raced wide on the track throughout the event.
GUYALLA (L.Buckingham) raced greenly throughout the event.
Race 2: Herbert River Express & Carlton Midstrength
Open Hcp Distance - 1000m.
1st - Silver Native 2nd - Strictly Fast 3rd - Didjano 4th – Final Storm
As the start was effected ESDENE’S SEQUEL (W.Kenning) jumped inwards and placed NO RESPECT (P.Cullen) into restricted racing room, at the same time BUSHRA GEM (G.Kliese) jumped outwards and placed FINAL STORM (J.Stopps) into restricted room.
Jockey G.Kliese was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount, BUSHRA GEM to shift outwards at approximately the 100mtr mark and tighten the running of NO RESPECT (P.Cullen) which was checked. In assessing the reprimand, Stewards took into account Jockey P.Cullen’s evidence that SUPER SUAVE (App P.Edwards) had contributed to the incident.
Race 3: Halgenses Red Brahman Stud & Parry Nissan
Class 4 Handicap Distance - 1100m.
1st - Spritely Ned 2nd - Surrey Gold 3rd - Tricky Dicky 4th – Another Irgun
ANOTHER IRGUN (E.Kowald) was kicked in the saddleing enclosure. The horse was examined by the Club’s veterinary surgeon and was passed fit to start. Jockey Kowald reported to the Stewards that he believed this incident contributed to the horses performance today.
CATBOY (G.Kliese) was examined by the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to start after making heaving contact with the gate when leaving the saddling enclosure.
MR JACOBS (App I.French) raced wide throughout the event.
Jockey E.Kowald the rider of ANOTHER IRGUN was fined the sum of $50 for breaching Ar145 in that he returned to scale after the event, in excess of half a kilogram overweight.
Jockey J.Felix reported that his mount HURICANE VIC attempted to buck when leaving the barriers.
Race 4: Amalgamated Pest Control
Class B Handicap Distance - 1100m.
1st - EUSTON FLYER 2nd - NEBULA 3rd - ROSIE’S BOY 4th – SAN REMO FLYER
Jockey E.Kowald was the rider of FINAL COUNTY. This was incorrectly advertised in the race book as having Jockey G.Cullen as the rider.
At approximately the 100mtr mark ONMYPAT (W.Cullen) shifted outwards to obtain clear running.
Race 5: John White Crash Repairs & Mitre 10 Handy
Class 3 Plate Distance - 1400m.
1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th –
At approximately the 1200mtr mark IGNITE ME (E.Kowald) shifted inwards and tightened GUM SCRUB (W.Cullen) inwards onto BYE BYE DIAMONDS (P.Cullen) which had to be checked. After concidering the evidence before them, Stewards advised Jockey E.Kowald to show more care in the future.
When rounding the home turn NORTHERN COMMANDER (J.Stopps) shifted out taking CRAZY AL (D.Crossland) wide onto the track.
Jockey P.Cullen was reprimanded for permitting his horse to shift inwards at the 100mtr mark and tighten the running of GALAXY FIGHTER (G.Cullen) which was checked.
