General:

Due to a shortage of riders, Stewards ordered the following late withdrawals at 11.00am, with no betting deductions needed:
Race 1 – CAPE HULA HULA, DON’T BOW MATE, DIAMOND PROPHET, ZINGALO
Race 2 – DRAC’S IMAGE.

Race 1:BANANA RACE DAY CLASS B HANDICAP - 900m
1st – ALITTLEBITOFBUBBLY 2nd – MAKE MERRY 3rd – BOOBYELLA 4th – EZI GIRL

ROCK AVENUE (A. Cox), SAZERAC (D. Crossland) and MAKE MERRY (K. Rockett) were all slow to begin.

Over the concluding stages ALITTLEBITOFBUBBLY (S. Morris) raced in restricted room between MAKE MERRY and BOOBYELLA (P. Cullen), which shifted in slightly.

Race 2: QUEENSLAND RACING MAIDEN PLATE - 1100M
1st – LIKE A GOD 2nd – TRENCH DIGGER 3rd – CRESTAR 4th – TALLGRASS

Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer Mr G. Strickland for the late notification of rider for KANDEE QUEEN.

Trainer Mr G. Strickland was fined the sum of $50 for failing to properly lodge a stable return for KANDEE QUEEN, by the prescribed time.

GAVANCHI (A. Cox), which was a little slow to begin was checked when tightened for room by LIKE A GOD (K. Rockett), which shifted in. K. Rockett was severely reprimanded for careless riding and advised that in future he must endeavour to stop and straighten his mounts.

Shortly after the start TIDDLIE TILLY (G. Kliese) and KANDEE QUEEN (S. Kaya) were both checked, and TRENCH DIGGER (P. Cullen) was inconvenienced, when BULL CATCHER (M. Atkinson) shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. At a subsequent inquiry trainer Mr R. Everingham was advised that BULL CATCHER must compete in a trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to being permitted to race again.

Race 3: INNISFAIL ANNUALS 16TH OCTOBER CLASS 4 HANDICAP - 1100m
1st – DESTINED TO REIGN 2nd – SOUNDS READY 3rd – MY FALLACY 4th – LUCKY RULER

LUCKY RULER (S. Kaya) began awkwardly and lost ground.

Near the 900m FRANKLIYEV (S. Morris) was steadied when MY FALLACY (P. Cullen), shifted in. At a subsequent inquiry P. Cullen was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future.

Race 4: ALCOCK & SONS OPEN HANDICAP - 1200m
1st – MONTGRESIN 2nd – NOBLEPRICE 3rd – FRED THE LEGION 4th – JACOBS TRICK

PURE SILENCE (P. Cullen) and NOBLEPRICE (K. Rockett) were both slow to begin.

PURE SILENCE over raced during the early and middle stages of the event.

K. Rockett the rider of NOBLEPRICE pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that near the 100m he permitted his mount NOBLEPRICE to shift out whilst still riding it along with the whip when being insufficiently clear of JACOBS TRICK (J. Stopps) forcing that runner out onto MONTGRESIN (G. Kliese), resulting in JACOBS TRICK being steadied and to lose its rightful running. K. Rockett’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period covered by 3NQ meetings to commence at midnight 26th June 2010 and to expire at midnight Friday 9th July 2010.

Race 5: CCRC CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 1500m
1st –FINAL ROAR 2nd – ALBUQUERQUE 3rd – NOVA NOIR 4th – STARTUS

Near the 1300m when the pace of the race slackened VICE QUEEN (J. Stopps) improved up onto the heels of TEVIOT WISH (S. Morris), shifted out inconveniencing both D’LORDSON (P. Cullen) and STARTUS (K. Rockett).

ALBUQUERQUE (I. Toward) over raced during the early stages.

D’LORDSON over raced during the middle stages.

Near the 800m D’LORDSON raced in restricted room for a short distance when awkwardly placed to the inside of VICE QUEEN.

A post race veterinary examination of D’LORDSON, which raced below expectations, failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
