GENERAL: As G Colless was indisposed due to illness, the following riding replacements were approved:

Trainer N Flouskos was fined $100 for failing to apply to remove the blinkers from CITICHY at the Q.T.C. meeting on 10 June 2000.
RACE 1: ANGUS BRUT H'CAP - 1200M
As K Banks was indisposed, L Cronan was substituted as the rider of MALLEE FIRE.
The start was delayed due to DEERHILL being difficult to load. A warning was issued to the connections concerning the horse’s barrier manners.
ESSWOR jumped in at the start and collided with AUSSIE ROCKER.
MALLEE FIRE jumped away awkwardly and knuckled over shortly after the start.
TABASCO GIRL jumped in the air at the start and lost valuable ground.
GRANDVIEW DRIVE jumped out at the start and made contact with CEREMONIAL SON.
Near the 800m BAKATIME got its head up when being steadied off the heels of TABASCO GIRL.
After leaving the 800m AUSSIE ROCKER got its head up and was inclined to race ungenerously after being crossed by IMPERIAL HEART.
After leaving the 500m ESSWOR, hung in under pressure and made heavy contact with AUSSIE ROCKER. A Baker reported that after making contact with AUSSIE ROCKER, ESSWOR appeared to lose interest in racing and did finish the race off as expected. The Club's veterinary surgeon reported that ESSWOR had been galloped on during the event.
RACE 2: OXFORD LANDING H'CAP - 1028M
J Stanley lost his balance on CA’DORO when that horse jumped away awkwardly.
CHARSKI hung out rounding the home turn and over the concluding stages.
LOVE CHAMPAGNE was held up for clear running until passing the 100m.
DISTINCT DANGER was caught four wide after the start and raced wide for the entire event.
RACE 3: COOPER’S ALE H'CAP - 1028M
TAVARAISE jumped away awkwardly.
Shortly after jumping away ACE RULE shifted in, despite the efforts of its rider M Cahill, tightening ROLLTON and NERVES OF STEEL. NERVES OF STEEL then became unbalanced when being restrained and raced ungenerously.
Approaching the first turn HUGE shifted in and tightened TAVARAISE in on to ACE RULE. Shortly after this, FLASH TUNE shifted in tightening HUGE. S Morris (FLASH TUNE) and C Moloney (HUGE) were both cautioned and advised of their requirements to provide sufficient room to runners after the start.
RACE 4: JANSZ NON-VINTAGE H'CAP - 1350M
Trainer J Hawkes was fined $50 for failing to submit a stable return for WHERE’S PALMWOODS by the prescribed time.
GOLDEN SON, which jumped awkwardly, had difficulty mustering speed in the early stages.
RACE 5: GALLWAY HERMITAGE H'CAP - 1200M
A protest lodged by J Stanley, the rider of the 4th placegetter BATU, against ZEDSQUARE, 2nd past the post, alleging interference near the 200m was upheld and the Judge’s placings amended to read:
1 HALLABALOO 1st
3 SEA SERENADE 2nd
12 BATU 3rd
11 ZEDSQUARE 4th
At a subsequent inquiry M Cahill was found guilty of a charge of careless riding by permitting his mount to shift out causing interference to RED GERARD and BATU near the 200m. M Cahill’s licence to ride was suspended for a period of 8 meetings to commence at midnight on Sunday, 18 June and expire on Sunday, 2 July. In this incident VAINQUEUR was hampered.
After being tightened at the start between HIS LEGACY and TABASCO CAT, VAINQUEUR blundered and lost ground.
SINGING VICTORY jumped away awkwardly and made contact with BATU.
HANG ON and RED GERARD made contact after jumping away.
A Gillett, the rider of RED GERARD, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding by permitting his mount to shift in near the 700m causing interference to TABASCO CAT. A Gillett’s licence to ride was suspended for a period of 8 meetings to commence at midnight on Saturday, 17 June and expire at midnight on Saturday, 1 July.
RACE 6: YALUMBA WINES H'CAP - 1200M
BENIN, which was kicked in the enclosure, was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.
Soon after the start JADED shifted in and made contact with TREASURE THE KWILA, forcing that horse in on to EL CARGO.
Approaching the 800m ALPINE WHISTLER, which was pulling hard, had to be checked off the heels of TREASURE THE KWILA.
On several occasions after leaving the 800m PONTEVEDRA had to be steadied off the heels of BENIN and had difficulty obtaining clear running until leaving the 300m.
RACE 7: YALUMBA UNWOODED CHARDONNAY H'CAP - 1700M
JOLTIN JOE and NELLIE DE AIR, both of which jumped away awkwardly, made heavy contact at the start.
Approaching the 1200m BISCUIT FLICKER commenced to pull hard and continued to overrace for some distance and near the 800m progressed forward.
Near the 1100m MY TUDOR ROSE had to be steadied off the heels of JOLTIN JOE when the pace steadied.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
