GENERAL: As N Jolly was indisposed, the following riding replacements were approved:

RACE 1: HAHN PREMIUM LIGHT H'CAP - 1350M

Trainer S Iverson was fined $50 for failing to declare a rider a rider for PAISLEY PARK by the prescribed time.

Approaching the home turn NELL'S TREASURE was momentarily hampered between DAMIKA and GENERAL DERBY which shifted out slightly.

MADAM FRENCH was held up for clear running for the majority of the straight, resulting in S Katsidis being unable to fully test his mount.

For some distance after passing the 200m NELL'S TREASURE was held up for clear running behind RICH AND FAMOUS.

RACE 2: THIRSTY DOG H'CAP - 1350M

Due to a clerical error, the following riders did not appear in the race book:

MARWIMMERA jumped away awkwardly.

RULING PLANET jumped away awkwardly and shifted out and made contact with RED AQUILLA.

An inquiry was opened into the reason why a number of runners, including RED AQUILLA, RULING PLANET, MARWIMMERA, SEMISYR, STATE OF THE MIND and PLAYGROUND, met with interference near the 1200m. A Morrison, the rider of MAISETTE, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that approaching the 1200m he initially permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of RED AQUILLA, causing that horse to be checked. Subsequently, KAVAMP shifted in when not clear of MAISETTE, resulting in the aforementioned runners all being further hampered. R Morris, the rider of KAVAMP, was also found guilty of a charge of careless riding underAR137(a) for contributing to the incident. A Morrison was suspended for a period of 6 meetings, to commence at midnight on Sunday, 11 February, and expire at midnight on Tuesday, 20 February. R Morris was also suspended for a period of 6 meetings.

R Morris was found guilty of a further charge of careless riding in that he continued to allow his mount to shift in near the 1000m resulting in RED AQUILLA and RULING PLANET both being severely crowded. In relation to this incident, R Morris was suspended for a period of 8 meetings. Stewards ruled that both terms of suspension be served concurrently, with the penalty to commence immediately and expire at midnight on Saturday, 17 February.

RED AQUILLA lost its near fore plate in running.

After the running of Race 2 the track was upgraded to GOOD.

RACE 3: XXXX GOLD H'CAP - 1350M

JHANSI KI RANI jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

STRESSED OUT jumped away awkwardly and shortly after was hampered by LITTLE KATERI which shifted out.

P Wolfgram, the rider of LET'S RAW, was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in approaching the 1000m causing LARRIKINTA and VIVID EDGE to be tightened for racing room. For some distance after this incident LARRIKINTA had a tendency to overrace and had to be steadied off the heels of LET'S RAW on two occasions.

RACE 4: YALUMBA H'CAP - 1022M

PERI REX was slow to jump.

FOLLOW MY FAITH raced greenly during the event and had a tendency to lay out.

RACE 5: SCHWEPPES SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES H'CAP - 1200M

Leaving the 1000m MAID GOOD had to be steadied off the heels of ZACOBBA, which resulted in MAID GOOD making that turn awkwardly.

The Club's veterinary surgeon reported that MAID GOOD and ZACOBBA pulled up shin sore.

RACE 6: MAGIC MILLIONS SUPER QRIS MINIBOWL - 1200M

As S Seamer was unavailable, P Wolfgram was substituted as the rider of MIGHTY STRONGHOLD.

READY TO REV jumped away awkwardly.

Shortly after the start CRACKERJACK'S HOPE shifted out and made contact with KANGAROO POINT and KING TARZAN.

Approaching the 700m READY TO REV had to be steadied off the heels of NORTHERN FEAR and in doing so shifted in resulting in KANGAROO POINT having to be steadied.

RACE 7: PEPSI H'CAP - 1022M

MISTER OMEGA was slow to jump.

Approaching the 700m HUSSAR'S HOPE had to be steadied off the heels of LADDIE ME LADDIE.

MISTER OMEGA was forced to race wide in the early and middle stages and made the home turn awkwardly.

RACE 8: XXXX H'CAP - 1537M

TURF KING was held up for clear running for some distance after leaving the 400m.

Approaching the home turn and in the early stages of the straight, TOBOLSK was held up for clear running between MR. THOMAS and NED'S REVENGE.

RACE 9: IPSWICH – IT'S A GREAT PLACE H'CAP – 1690M

GOLDEN VISTA jumped out at the start and made contact with OUR REIGN.

RACE 10: STAR 106.9 FM H'CAP – 1100M

On jumping away KING CAL was crowded for room between ARROGANT GHOST and MAN'S A FOOL, both of which shifted ground.

Approaching the first turn SPRING DAY had to be steadied off the heels of POWER SEEKER.

Nearing the 700m OZZEL made heavy contact with the running rail and shifted out and bumped the hind quarters of REGAL TYCOON.

ARROGANT GHOST sustained a laceration to the near hind cannon during the event.

ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
