WEATHER - FINE TRACK - GOOD RAIL - 9M 1600-1200, 10 REMAINDER


RACE 1: EVERHARD NUGLEAM H'CAP - 1200M.

WHITE RAJA was slow to begin.

EBONYTARI began awkwardly and lost ground.

A veterinary examination of IN THE JUDGE'S BOX revealed the gelding to be slightly distressed and showing signs of shin soreness.

S. Galloway, who was distressed after riding IN THE JUDGE'S BOX, was examined the club's doctor on return to scale and advised to forego his mount on CROSS WORDS in race 5. J. Stanley was substituted as the rider of CROSS WORDS.


RACE 2: TRADELINK PLUMBING SHOWROOM H'CAP - 1350M.

IMMILUSTIG jumped away awkwardly, resulting in A. Pattillo's right foot making contact with the starting gate. On return to scale, A. Pattillo was examined by the club's medical officer and stood down from his remaining engagements. S. Katsidis was substituted as the rider of PROWLING AROUND (Race 5), and M. Paget as the rider of ROAD TO ATLANTIS (Race 8).

KIDBURG also made contact with the starting gate on jumping away.

Passing the 800m., A. Pattillo was unable to restrain IMMILUSTIG and shifted out from behind the heels of SEA SERENADE, forcing LUCKIES wider on the track.


RACE 3: NAUTILUS SYSTEMS H'CAP - 1200M.

INDIGIT was slow to begin.

GARUVA shifted out shortly after the start, resulting in FACE PAINT clipping that filly's heels and blundering.

CANADEE commenced to hang out passing the 800m. and continued to do so for the remainder of the event.

Near the 800m., after being briefly tightened for room by GARUVA, NEPTUNE'S FANCY became unbalanced and had to be checked off the heels of that runner. Whilst stewards accepted that the racing manners of NEPTUNE'S FANCY had contributed to the incident, G. Colless, rider of GARUVA, was nonetheless reminded of his obligations to allow sufficient racing room for runners to his inside.
Leaving the 800m., LIGHT SHADE had to be restrained off the heels of JENIBRIA. FACE PAINT, which was following, was hampered in this incident.

At the entrance to the straight, RIP RAWING was disappointed for a run between KINDILAN and BELL ROAD.

C. Reith reported that he endeavoured to ease KINDILAN out of the event after entering the straight when he was of the opinion that something felt amiss with the mare. A veterinary examination of KINDILAN revealed it to be suffering from heat stress.



RACE 4: TRADELINK PLUMBING SUPPLIES H'CAP - 1700M.

MISS CORTONA was slow to begin.

Approaching the 1200m., REGAL APPLAUSE commenced to race ungenerously and shifted out and raced wide for the remainder of the event. P. Wolfgram reported that he felt something was amiss with REGAL APPLAUSE, and a veterinary examination of the gelding following the event revealed it have pulled up lame in the off foreleg.

Making the home turn, TOAST A LADY had to be restrained off the heels of IF BY CHANCE, which shifted out.

A veterinary examination of SAILOR'S LARK, which lost its off fore plate in running, revealed the gelding to be lame in that leg.

N. Jolly was fined $50 for returning to scale in excess of half a kilogram overweight on IF BY CHANCE.


RACE 5: RHEEM HOTWATER SYSTEM H'CAP - 1700M.

MYMATTY jumped away awkwardly, losing ground and was forced to race wide throughout.

Near the 600m., MARQUIS was buffeted for room between OUR REIGN and PROWLING AROUND, and near the 500m., shifted in slightly, inconveniencing CARERA, which had to be steadied.

Near the 450m., WOMANHOOD had to be steadied when attempting to improve to the inside of ROYAL CONCORDE where there was insufficient room.



RACE 6: VINIDEX PTY LTD H'CAP - 1200M.

As M. Aspinall was indisposed, P. Wolfgram was substituted as the rider of BUGLET.

RACE CAREER blundered on jumping away.

WHIZCAT jumped awkwardly and then shifted out, hampering HARD BID.

CELESTAMOR hung out making the home turn, taking BENTOTA wider on the track.

Following the poor performance of MR JAMAICA, trainer Mr R. Whalley was advised that the nomination of that gelding for TAB meetings will be refused until the gelding establishes form at non TAB meetings.


RACE 7: LYSAGHT ROOFING H'CAP - 1028M.

Apprentice L. McCoy was reprimanded for failing to claim her full allowance on MIGHTY TSAR.

Shortly after the start, SAHARA SAINT shifted out, taking VIDIFY out on to MIGHTY TSAR, which resulted in VIDIFY being buffeted between those runners for some distance.

Near the 100m., ROMANTIC REGION was tightened for room between VIDIFY and TAKANNA, which shifted in.




RACE 8: KOHLER COMPANY H'CAP - 1200M.

IMPERIAL ECHO was slow to begin.

On jumping away, GREY EMPIRE shifted in and made contact with SEA AMIGO.

Near the 1000m., SEA AMIGO broke down. IMPERIAL ECHO, which was following, shifted out abruptly to avoid SEA AMIGO, which resulted in J. Byrne being dislodged from IMPERIAL ECHO. The club's veterinary surgeon reported that SEA AMIGO was euthanased on humane grounds.






ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
