10M REMAINDER

GENERAL: As G Colless was indisposed, the following riding replacements were approved:

Race 1 REBEL REBEL C Whiteley
Race 4 CARALOWE C Whiteley
Race 7 BREAK AND ENTER M Pelling
Race 8 SWEET CHERI PIE J Byrne

Trainer B Laming was fined $50 for nominating WHATTOROA in a Class 5 event, a race for which it was ineligible.

RACE 1: QLD WINTER RACING CARNIVAL H'CAP – 2167M

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of KING ZOFF, D Tanti stated that after suffering interference at the start, the horse was then reluctant to race and was under pressure a considerable distance from the finish. Stable representative Ms G Grankvist reported that the horse usually races in a forward position and felt that the fact that the horse had suffered interference at the start had a detrimental effect on its performance today. A veterinary examination of KING ZOFF failed to reveal any abnormality and a swab sample was taken from the gelding.

RACE 2: SAPAR LANDSCAPING H'CAP – 1023M

STEEL MAIZ was a late scratching at 7.45 a.m. Trainer B Laming was fined $100 for failing to scratch that gelding by the prescribed time.

ALL MIGHTY ACE was slow to begin.

After passing the 500m, when attempting a run between YEATSON LEE and ALL MIGHTY ACE where there was insufficient room, HE'S ALL OURS made heavy contact with ALL MIGHTY ACE and as a result shifted back across the heels of YEATSON LEE and blundered badly. Apprentice Z Purton, the rider of HE'S ALL OURS, was severely reprimanded for attempting a run where there was not sufficient room.

Inside the 50m JETWIN had to be momentarily steadied after receiving pressure from ZALZALLA which was taken in by ADIAN WAY.

When questioned regarding the poor performance of ALL MIGHTY ACE, J Byrne stated that after being a touch slow to begin, his mount travelled well throughout the event, however when bumped by HE'S ALL OURS near the 500m the horse became unbalanced and failed to stretch out from that point. A veterinary examination of ALL MIGHTY ACE failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 3: IPSWICH CITY COUNCIL H'CAP - 1200M

KAORU QUEEN and DRUTHER'S OPTION were slow to begin.

BOOM SOUND was held up for clear running in the early stages of the straight and after obtaining a tight run between JAVA HEART and KAAPTIVE DELIGHT near the 50m was inclined to lay in and away from JAVA HEART and came in contact with KAAPTIVE DELIGHT, which was tiring, resulting in KAAPTIVE DELIGHT having to be checked.

RACE 4: EYELINER LOUNGE H'CAP – 1023M

KENTUCKY THUNDER was slow to begin.

LITTLE MISS ARIES jumped away awkwardly.

MASTER SWITCH and I'M A PEKAN made contact on jumping away.

Near the 900m POSCOH shifted in and made contact with the running rail and became unbalanced.

RACE 8: BBC HARDWARE SUPER QRIS ADDED STAKES H'CAP – 1100M

VERMILION FIRE reared and lost ground at the start.
