RACE 2: WINE, WOMEN AND WINNING LADIES RACEDAY H'CAP - 1100M.

ANGEL FOR SURE was a late scratching at 9.30 a.m. on veterinary advice.

After jumping awkwardly and making contact with the barrier gate, PINK PONTIAC then bumped HOHOKAM, causing that horse to be hampered.

DON'T MUKAROUND also began awkwardly.

Near the 400m., HOHOKAM shifted out to improve and made contact with GAELIC PRINCE.

The track was upgraded to slow following this event.

RACE 3: SCHWEPPES H'CAP - 1100M.

Trainer K. Davis was advised that a warning will be placed on CREPITATE, which proved difficult to load.

When questioned, M. Pelling stated that TROUBLE BREWING was reluctant to race throughout the event and as a result he eased the gelding in the straight. The only explanation M. Pelling could offer was that TROUBLE BREWING, which was having its first start in a race, may not have handled the prevailing track conditions. A veterinary examination of TROUBLE BREWING failed to reveal any abnormality. Trainer M. Nolan's representative Miss T. Scown undertook to advise stewards of any abnormality which may become apparent in the days following the race that may have had some bearing on the horse's disappointing performance.

KISS AND COVERT, which suffered a bleeding attack during the event, will be barred from racing for the mandatory period of 3 months. A swab sample was taken from KISS AND COVERT.
RACE 4: YALUMBA CLASS 4 H'CAP - 1666M.

DIAMOND ZOFF was slow to begin.

For some distance near the 1000m., POCKETSFIL had to be continually restrained off the heels of COMET DANCER.

MILITARY ASSASIN was held up for clear running passing the 400m. and at the entrance to the straight had to be steadied off the heels of the tiring ALL THINGS.

D. Evans, rider of ALL THINGS, reported that in his opinion the gelding failed to handle the track conditions today and was beaten prior to the home turn.

RACE 5: XXXX CLASS 1 H'CAP - 1350M.

As W. Moore failed to arrive on course, J. Taylor was substituted as the rider of DASH O' LUCK.
An inquiry will be held into the matter.

Near the 700m., DANLU was hampered when briefly tightened for room by BROTHER LEO.
