WEATHER - OVERCAST TRACK - HEAVY RAIL - 8M. ALL TRACK
RACE 1: SAXON HOT WATER SYSTEM H'CAP - 800M.
RAW DIAMOND, KARMA QUEST and IN ON MAGIC both jumped away akwardly.
HIDDEN AMBITION, which had a tendency to hang in, was inconvenienced rounding the home turn by IN ON MAGIC, which was inclined to lay out. HIDDEN AMBITION continued to lay in for the remainder of the race.
RACE 2: EVERHARD NUGLEAM H'CAP - 1700M.
M. Smith-Lester was the late replacement rider for MUSICAL TOTE when B. Swanton became indisposed.
MUSICAL TOTE jumped away awkwardly.
After travelling a short distance, MUSICAL TOTE got its head up and overraced for some distance.
RACE 3: SAPAR LANDSCAPING SUPPLIES - RACEVIEW H'CAP - 1350M.
SOBROTH was a little slow to begin.
MOTABRO blundered on jumping away.
Approaching the home turn, MUSIC MASTER shifted out and brushed the hind quarters of BIG DANCE.
RACE 4: SAPAR LANDSCAPING SUPPLIES- REDBANK H'CAP - 1350M.
Trainer B. Bowditch was fined $50 for failing to notify M. Rodd as the rider of MAIZIERE within the prescribed time.
MAGIC WAYS jumped into the barrier partition, resulting in M. Pelling's right stirrup iron breaking. A short distance later when attempting to regain his iron, MAGIC WAYS shifted out, forcing SEA SERENADE out on to PRINCE ASHTON, which had to be steadied away from the heels of BULL POWER. As a consequence of his right iron breaking, M. Pelling was disadvantaged in riding his mount for the entire race.
MAIZIERE was slow to begin.
RACE 5: RHEEM HOT WATER SYSTEM H'CAP - 1350M.
Trainer L. Paton was fined $50 for failing to declare a rider for OUR SIAM by the prescribed time.
ESELKAY jumped in the air and shifted out at the start, making heavy contact with TELEBAN, forcing that horse to lose ground when being forced on to the hind quarters of KAAPTIVE DELIGHT.
Approaching the 1200m., TERJULE had to be eased away from the heels of ESELKAY, which shifted out slightly.
BOOM SOUND, which haemorrhaged from both nostrils, was declared ineligible to race for 3 months. A swab sample was taken from BOOM SOUND.
RACE 6: TRADELINK PLUMBING SUPPLIES H'CAP - 1100M.
GOODNIGHT KISS was tightened for room at the start between SALIENT PRINCE and MACALBERT, which after jumping awkwardly, shifted outwards.
SAIL THE WIND cast its off fore plate in running.
RACE 7: SAPAR LANDSCAPING SUPPLIES - CHUWAR H'CAP - 1010M.

After being examined by the club's doctor, M. Cahill was replaced by J. Taylor on THESPIAN PRINCE.
A warning was issued to the connections of BOLD EMANCIPATION, which proved difficult to load.
CELESTAMOR jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, making contact with SUPERCHARGER.
BOLD EMANCIPATION blundered on jumping away.
MOYNIHAN shifted out shortly after the start and hampered AURORA AUSTRALIS.
Stewards questioned S. Galloway concerning the seemingly disappointing performance of GRITTY, which finished near the rear of the field. S. Galloway explained that the horse travelled satisfactorily until the 600m., however when asked for an effort, failed to respond to his riding, and he felt that the horse may not have been suited by the heavy track. He further explained that in his opinion the horse may be looking for further ground in its races. The explanation was noted.
G. Duffy was questioned as to the disappointing performance of AURORA AUSTRALIS. G. Duffy explained that the horse was not comfortable in the heavy conditions and failed to respond to his riding at any stage. AURORA AUSTRALIS, which finished a considerable distance from the main body of the field, was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon who reported that the horse had cast a plate, however he could find no other significant abnormality. A swab sample was taken from AURORA AUSTRALIS.
RACE 8: MANGO MADNES H'CAP - 1010M.
Stewards will interview trainer R. Heathcote in relation to the engagement of D. Griffin as the rider of STYLISH AMBER as D. Griffin had been dually engaged. J. Byrne replaced D. Griffin, who had been booked as the rider of STRATHNAVER.
L. Morrison, rider of KYTANA, was severely reprimanded for permitting her mount to shift in approaching the first turn, causing DANCE 'N' SWAY to be tightened for racing room.
Approaching the home turn, DANCE 'N' SWAY shifted out and hampered KYTANA.
ALL WINNERS, AURORA AUSTRALIS AND BOOM SOUND WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
