WEATHER - FINE TRACK - GOOD RAIL - OUT 3M. ALL TRACK
RACE 1: SHARPLY H'CAP - 1000M.
FRAME WORK reared as the gates opened and was hampered shortly afterwards by CRIMSON CARNATION, which shifted out.
ALTRICE also jumped awkwardly.
MY ANNUITY was slow to begin.
Shortly after the start, CRIMSON CARNATION shifted out and clipped the heels of THUNDER AND ROSES and blundered.
Approaching the 800m., ATHEROL had to be steadied to avoid the heels of BETTER DAYS.
R. Crilley reported that ATHEROL was inclined to hang out after leaving the 500m..
FRAME WORK was inclined to race ungenerously after leaving the 800m..
CRIMSON CARNATION shifted out after leaving the 400m., and when struck with the whip near the 150m., the filly then shifted out abruptly, obliging its rider to straighten his mount.
RACE 2: DAIRIADA H'CAP - 1000M.
CHARMING EYES, which broke through the barriers prior to the start and travelled a short distance before being restrained, was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed to start.
VOLCANIC ANGEL was slow to begin.
SHE'S A PRINCESS was reluctant to race after travelling a short distance.
Near the 650m., BRONX QUEEN had to be restrained to avoid the heels of LA SEGRETA, which shifted in.
BRONX QUEEN was inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.
FAIRY DUST was obliged to race wide throughout the race.
RACE 3: SOMETIME H'CAP - 1666M.
As C. Spry was to be overweight, he was replaced by Z. Purton on MISS CANTHRILL. C. Spry was fined the sum of $100.
MISS CANTHRILL and QUISTADOR came together on jumping away.
QUISTADOR was obliged to race wide throughout the event, and near the 150m. had to be steadied to avoid the heels of MISS CANTHRILL, which shifted out. A veterinary examination of QUISTADOR following the event revealed the gelding to be slightly shin sore in both forelegs.
Approaching the 50m., STRONG ROSE was obliged to shift out to avoid the heels of SIMPLY ALOOF, which shifted in.
GANGREL shifted out under pressure in the straight.
RACE 4: CONFERENCE H'CAP - 1500M.
ANOTHER GENERAL, which was kicked behind the barriers, was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.
On jumping away, BACK TO SCRATCH was hampered when tightened for room between QUEEN OF VIOLINS and LORKITA, which was taken out by ALL CRAFTY.
Shortly after the start, QUEEN OF VIOLINS had to be restrained to avoid the heels of MELT THE GUNS, which shifted in. B. Stewart, rider of MELT THE GUNS, was advised to exercise more care in future when shifting ground.
LORKITA was held up for clear running in the straight.
RACE 5: BOREHEAD H'CAP - 1100M.
CATALINA, which was restless in the stalls, was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.
S. Shield reported that LORD GEIGER was inclined to hang out making the 800m. turn, and approaching the 400m., again hung out and had to be checked off the heels of LADDIE ME LADDIE. IN TRYST, which was following, was unable to avoid the heels of LORDGEIGER and had to be checked. The racing manners of LORD GEIGER were brought to the attention of trainer D. Wozencroft.
Both EXEMPLA and WOLF WALKING were obliged to race wide throughout the event.
CATALINA was unable to obtain clear running in the straight.
RACE 6: ISAACSON H'CAP - 1200M.
GRACE'S ROSES jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with SAM'S APPEAL.
NATTIE was obliged to race wide throughout.
RACE 7: STRIKING FORCE H'CAP - 2150M.
J. Sharp reported that the bit pulled through the mouth of TOUCH OF SANITY early in the event, and approaching the 1000m.he was unable to restrain the gelding and clipped the heels of NARWHAL and blundered. A veterinary examination of TOUCH OF SANITY revealed bruising, swelling and contusions to the tongue of the gelding.
RACE 8: PRUNDA H'CAP - 1666M.
On jumping away POCKETSFIL was hampered when tightened for room between SHANKADI and HELLIE MISSED, which was taken out by UNCLE NUGGET.
Near the 500m., POCKETSFIL was unable to improve when held up behind UNCLE NUGGET.
ALL WINNERS AND TOUCH OF SANITY WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
