IPSWICH TURF CLUB STEWARDS REPORT WED. 07.05.03

STEWARDS PANEL: Mr C. Clifford (Chairman), Mr A. Reardon, Mr C. McLune, Mr R. Sanders

WEATHER – FINE TRACK – GOOD RAIL – OUT 3.5M

GENERAL: As M. Rodd was indisposed, the following riding replacements were approved:

Race 2 MUKANIC M. Bennett
Race 4 UBIQUOS A. Best
Race 5 COERCED R. Goltz
Race 6 REPSOL J. Stanley
Race 7 WELTODO A. Best

RACE 1: IPSWICH RSL SERVICES CLUB H'CAP – 1350M

NO RACING INCIDENTS.

RACE 2: MR MAGIC H'CAP – 1200M

MUKANIC jumped away awkwardly and made contact with the side partition.

KANANGA was obliged to race wide in the middle stages of the event.

RACE 3: ATROPINE H'CAP - 1000M

TRINITY ROSE was slow to jump.

TRINITY ROSE had a tendency to race greenly for the majority of the event.

On pulling up, M. Bennett (BROWN BRIDGE) and J. Powell (RETRIBUTION) were dislodged from their respective mounts. Both riders were subsequently examined by the Club's ambulance officer who passed them fit to fulfil their remaining engagements.

RACE 4: SO DANDY H'CAP – 1100M

UBIQUOS and VIDEO HITS jumped away awkwardly.

BUNGER was obliged to race wide for the majority of the event.

UBIQUOS, which bled from both nostrils, will incur a mandatory three-month ban from racing. A swab sample was taken from UBIQUOS.

A veterinary examination of SQUEALER, which finished a distant last, revealed the filly to be shin sore in the near foreleg.

RACE 5: FINAL AFFAIR H'CAP – 1666M

As G. Lynch was indisposed, R. Morris was substituted as the rider of YOUNG EMPEROR.

UNDARA was slow to begin.

On jumping away BREAKING THE ICE was hampered between YOUNG EMPEROR and QUAVI.

MICKEY BLUE EYES lost its near fore plate during the event.

RACE 6: JAMES TRADITION H'CAP – 1100M

Leaving the 800m GENERAL'S REVENGE had to be steadied off the heels of CHIEF QUALO.

RACE 7: BANK COIN H'CAP – 1100M

WELTODO was obliged to race wide for the majority of the event.

Passing the 800m WELTODO and PURE SENSATION made contact, resulting in PURE SENSATION becoming unbalanced. A veterinary examination of PURE SENSATION failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 8: AS GOOD AS GOLD XXXX H'CAP – 1200M

ROYAL MIRAGE, which was fractious in the barriers, lost considerable ground on jumping away.

CABARITA COUNTY jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with MAJESTIC THRILL.

Approaching the home turn FASCINATIONS had a tendency to hang out and ran wider on the track.

At the entrance to the straight MISTER DE BALI was held up for clear running behind EWANJO.

ALL WINNERS AND UBIQUOS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
