Griffin explained that rounding the home turn he had been held up inside of PRINCESS ISIS and behind BLUEBURG, however on straightening an opportunity appeared for him to improve to the inside of BLUEBURG, however he was reluctant to take that option as he felt that BLUEBURG, which was racing in advance, was going to move closer to the rails. He added that when he elected to position his horse to the outside of the heels of BLUEBURG, that horse also shifted outwards and he became momentarily held up after committing himself to a run to the outside. His explanation was noted.
