Approaching the 900m HOT ROSSA (J. Holder) was tightened for room when racing on the inside of MEDIMIST and GRON TROO (M. Cahill). After considering the matter, stewards gave J. Bowditch, the rider of MEDIMIST, the benefit of the doubt as to whether he was careless in allowing his mount to shift in and tighten the ground of HOT ROSSA. In deciding the matter, stewards took into account the limited race experience of the horses involved. GILDED DIAMOND was checked in this incident.
