SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS:
As S. Galloway was indisposed, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.
Jockey C. Symons was reprimanded for wearing unacceptable attire.
Race 1: Ringbolt Maiden Plate – 1666m
1st – Daintree Crossing 2nd – Ryjatah 3rd – Compulsive 4th – Hurricane Lass
J. Holder, rider of CAPO DI CAPI, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that near the 1500m he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of RYJATAH (A. Spinks), resulting in that horse being taken in on COOLY ROAD (M. Traecey), which had to be checked. A short distance after this incident, OSCAR OSETETCH (D. Griffin) and MIGHTY NATURAL (I. French) both raced in restricted room and made contact, becoming unbalanced. J. Holder was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 7 meetings, to commence at midnight, 9 April, and to expire at midnight, 21 April 2007.
A post race veterinary examination of MIGHTY NATURAL failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 2: Pewsey Vale Class 2 H’cap – 1666m
1st – Bearcountry 2nd – Mr Rumpole 3rd – Reflect And Dream 4th – She’s Rocking
REFLECT AND DREAM (K. Wharton) was slow to begin.
J. Quinnell, rider of COUNT DE RETZ, was cautioned for abruptly reducing the pace of his mount after leaving the 1300m, which resulted in MR RUMPOLE (B. El-Issa) having to be checked after improving on to the heels of COUNT DE RETZ (J. Quinnell).
MR RUMPOLE was inclined to lay in in the straight.
MR RUMPOLE was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon after the race and was found to have sustained a laceration to the inside of the off foreleg.
A post race veterinary examination of FORTUNE IN SILVER, which compounded over the concluding stages, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 3: Heggies QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate – 1100m
1st – Fortunate Choice 2nd - Encosticated 3rd – Impartiality 4th - Asituation
ORGANISED (P. Wolfgram) and CELESTIAL BLAZE (M. Rice) were tightened for room between BELCHER (A. Taylor) and MY LAST CENT (S. Drake) when both horses shifted ground at the start.
S. Campton, rider of ASITUATION, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that he permitted his mount to shift in near the 800m when not sufficiently clear of MR DAYBREAK, resulting in that horse being taken in on to ORGANISED (P. Wolfgram), which was checked. S. Campton was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 8 meetings.
S. Camtpon, rider of ASITUATION, was also found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that near the 100m he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of PRETERNATURALLY (N. Tomizawa), resulting in that horse having to be checked and lose its position. S. Campton was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 10 meetings. Stewards ordered that this period of suspension be served concurrently with the period of suspension incurred near the 800m, to commence at midnight, 7 April and to expire at midnight, 21 April 2007.
Near the 500m, ASITUATION had to be checked when attempting to take a run where there was doubtful room to the inside of CELESTIAL BLAZE (M. Rice), which had been racing greenly.
J. Powell reported that as a result of WEST OF HOLLYWOOD jumping awkwardly the saddle shifted back a short distance after the start and the horse attempted to buck. He added that from that point onwards he was at a disadvantage and was unable to ride the horse due to the displacement of the saddle. Trainer’s representative Mr S. Crawford confirmed that the saddle had been displaced on returning to the enclosure.
Race 4: Hill Smith Estate Maiden H’cap – 1200m
1st – Miss Devito 2nd – Streetwalkin’ 3rd – Summer In Paradise 4th – Before Hollywod
P. Wolfgram was examined by the club’s doctor after riding in race 3 and stood down from his remaining engagement on LOOKOUT KWILA and was replaced by N. Tomizawa.
LOOKOUT KWILA (N. Tomizawa) and LITTLE IMP (J. Holder) came together on jumping away.
AU KITTYCAT (J. Sharp) jumped outwards at the start, making contact with SPRITES DELIGHT (S. Katsidis), forcing it out on to BRIAN’S MEMORY (J. Powell).
SUMMER IN PARADISE (J. Taylor) raced wide in the early stages.
PING FONG (W. Moore) and BRIAN’S MEMORY (J. Powell) raced wide throughout.
A post race veterinary examination of CARDINAL ANGEL failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 5: Gary Sivyer Happy Birthday Class 3 H’cap – 1200m
1st – Flying Test 2nd – Boom Shaker 3rd – Fush 4th - Jakelli
Near the 200m, ADJOURNMENT (J. Jones), when tiring, was inclined to lay out across the heels of JAKELLI (M. Heagney).
S. Apthorpe, rider of LITTLE MISSIE, which raced wide throughout, dropped his whip near the 150m.
FUSH (S. Katsidis) was held up for clear running in the straight until approaching the 100m.
LITTLE MISSIE (S. Apthorpe) raced wide throughout.
Race 6: Smith & Hooper C&G Class 1 H’cap – 1350m
1st – Decerto 2nd – Reckon I’M Ready 3rd – Unique Upon Em 4th – Carry The Brave
DECERTO (J. Byrne) made heavy contact with the barrier partition when jumping away awkwardly.
KAYCEE’S BID (S. Apthorpe) and HOPPO (J. Holder) were slow to begin.
BUILDER BOB (J. Taylor) was held up rounding the home turn and until near the 200m.
CARRY THE BRAVE (B. Stewart) was caught wide throughout.
Race 7: Yalumba Class 5 H’cap – 1350m
1st – The Big Easy 2nd – Dodge Ball 3rd – Haight Ashbury 4th – Coolibah Kid
UNBRIDLED FURY was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 4.24 p.m. after the gelding injured itself in the barriers. Subsequent to the event, all monies invested on UNBRIDLED FURY were ordered to be refunded, with deduction of 2 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets, 2 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets.
Near the 1100m, DODGE BALL (J. Sharp) was inconvenienced when racing in restricted room to the inside of MIRIMBA BAY (D. Barron), which shifted in. D. Barron was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
NIGROGEN NARCOSIS (B. El-Issa) and REGAL CHARMER raced wide throughout.
Race 8: Oxford Landing F&M Class 1 H’cap – 1350m
1st – Southern Sister 2nd – Bhagwanita 3rd – Felecia 4th - Danlass
MISS MADANG (D. Peisley) and MARZIPAN SAGA (J. Byrne) jumped away awkwardly.
SOUTHERN SISTER (D. Griffin) jumped outwards at the start and brushed BHAGWANITA (B. Pengelly).
DANLASS (T. Pannell) was slow to begin.
FELECIA (J. Taylor) got its head up and raced ungenerously making the turn near the 1000m.
DIAMADA (S. Drake) made the turn at the 800m awkwardly and shifted out, taking MY MANDOLIN (M. Morris) out on to DELL AMBY (S. Katsidis).
HOWGREENISMYVALEY (J. Jones), SOUTHERN SISTER (D. Griffin) and BHAGWANITA (B. Pengelly) raced wide throughout.
J. Byrne, rider of the 5th placegetter, MARZIPAN SAGA, was fined $400 for failing to ride his mount right out to the finish of the race.
