A post race veterinary examination of HALF MOON BAY revealed the horse to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer L. Ross was advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance for HALF MOON BAY prior to its next race start.

He added that following that performance and from a wide barrier today, it was felt that in the best interests of the MAGIC ROCKER it was intended to ease the gelding to a more rearward position, which resulted in the MAGIC ROCKER racing more competitively.
