Leaving the 700m DANE PRINCESS improved up onto the heels of JUSSA WOMANN and had to be steadied.
A veterinary examination of WARRANT (A. Spinks), which tired badly over the final 400m resulting in the horse being uncompetitive, revealed no significant findings. A. Spinks was of
the view that the horse failed to run out the 2100m of today's event and added that connections are reconsidering the horse's racing program.

Near the 200m OKAPYE had to be checked when racing to the inside of TOBORAIGH STAR which shifted in when attempting to improve to the inside of ELLIE LA VIE and when insufficiently clear of OKAPYE. At a subsequent inquiry apprentice T. Harrison (TOBORAIGH STAR) was issued with a charge of careless riding in that approaching the 200m she
permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of OKAPYE, resulting in OKAPYE having to be checked. At the request of apprentice Harrison, stewards adjourned the inquiry to enable apprentice Harrison to be represented by her master.
Race 5: JADE FINANCIAL GROUP QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP - 1350M
1st - Kuan Yin 2nd - Lady Mary 3rd - Denwood 4th - Neurum Road

Race 6: WORK VENTURE (QLD) CLASS 1 H'CAP - 1350M
1st - Snip 'N' Away 2nd - Mackenzie 3rd - Floriade 4th - Oakfield Babe

SNIP 'N' AWAY (G. Colless) and SAMANTHA'S OPINION (L. Rolls) made contact on jumping away.

Hurdle) which was to that runner's outside. At a subsequent inquiry jockey J. Taylor and apprentice R. Hurdle were both reprimanded for allowing their mounts to shift in at that point which contributed to FLORIADE being tightened for room.
G. Colless, the rider of SNIP 'N' AWAY, was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of SAMANTHA'S OPINION, which had to be steadied.
LEONCINO (R. Hurdle) and WHO CARES WINS (J. Taylor) raced wide for the majority of the event.
Apprentice L. Rolls, the rider of SAMANTHA'S OPINION, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that approaching the 1000m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of LEONCINO, which in turn shifted in tightening the running of UNTOWARD, which then became buffeted when making contact with MACKENZIE (G.Cooksley), which was racing to the inside of UNTOWARD. WHO CARES WINS, which was following, was inconvenienced as a consequence. Apprentice Rolls' licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 6 meetings, with the term of suspension to commence at midnight on Wednesday, 4 April, and expire at midnight on Friday, 13 April 2012.
Near the 700m UNTOWARD improved on to the heels of SAMANTHA'S OPINION and had to be steadied.
SHABUSHI overraced in the middle stages.
When questioned as to the riding tactics adopted on SNIP 'N' AWAY, which raced more forward, which is in contrast to its previous racing pattern. Jockey G. Colless stated that the colt had shown a tendency to be tardy at its previous starts. G. Colless noted that SNIP 'N' AWAY began well today and he was able to obtain a position outside the leader with relative ease, considering the slow pace in the early stages of the event. Trainer L. Birchley agreed with jockey Colless's comments and indicated that should the horse begin well in the future it will be ridden in a similar fashion.
A post-race veterinary examination of WHO CARES WINS revealed that the mare had sustained a laceration to the back of the off hind leg consistent with being galloped on.
A post-race veterinary examination of SAMANTHA'S OPINION revealed that the mare had sustained a laceration to the near hind leg consistent with being galloped on.

TEN SECONDS (C. Munce) and SEVENSPANISHANGELS (M. Speers) made contact on jumping away.
MINI DELAGO (T. Harrison) was slow to begin, resulting in the horse losing valuable ground.
As C. Munce had left the course without seeking permission, stewards will inquire into the reasons surrounding TEN SECONDS (C. Munce) having to be checked near the 900m at a time and date to be fixed.
STRATUM FORCE (M. Gray) overraced in the early stages of the event.
SYMBIOTIC (L. Cassidy) and LINE OF CONFLICT (R. Wiggins) were both held up for clear running rounding the home turn and until leaving the 200m.

When questioned regarding the peformance of TEN SECONDS, C. Munce stated he was not disappointed with the gelding's performance as the saddle shifted back at the start, placing him at some disadvantage. Trainer L. Birchley advised stewards he expected a more forward
showing from TEN SECONDS today and was disappointed with its overall peformance.
