Connections advised as TWO WISHES had not, in their opinion, been finishing its races off, that contrary to its usual racing pattern where it has been leading, the intention would be to have the filly race in a midfield to back position with cover if circumstances permit. TWO WISHES raced accordingly.
TWO WISHES began awkwardly and shifted in, resulting in I’M ADAMANT (G. Colless) shifting in and away from that runner, making heavy contact with SHARDAY (M. McKenzie), which lost ground.
TWO WISHES overraced in the early stages.
MODERN ROSE (R. Jamieson) raced wide for the majority of the race.
S. Bogenhuber, rider of SNIFF, was reprimanded and advised of her obligations to ride her mounts right out to the finish of the race.
SHARDAY raced greenly throughout the event and hung out for the majority of the race and continued to do so in the home straight, shifting wider on the track. Whilst stewards took into account the racing manners of SHARDAY, apprentice M. McKenzie was advised that under the circumstances better options may have been available to him in riding the filly out to the line. Trainer D. Bell was advised that SHARDAY must trial to the satisfaction of the stewards prior to racing again. A post race veterinary examination of SHARDAY failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
A post race veterinary examination of SNIFF revealed the filly had sustained a speedy cut to the near side hock.
Race 2: Sky Racing CG&E Maiden Plate – 1200m

Leaving the 800m, NEURUM ROAD (R. Hancock) shifted out, making contact with NICE RED (R. Jamieson), forcing that runner wider on the track.
Rider M. Palmer reported that POLAR BLITZ raced greenly for the majority of the race and was inclined to hang out when placed under pressure in the straight.
AZIDE hung out rounding the home turn and continued to do so when placed under pressure in the home straight.
NICE RED raced wide for the majority of the race.
A post race veterinary examination of IT IS YOUR DESTINY revealed the horse was suffering from heat stress. IT IS YOUR DESTINY was treated by the veterinary surgeon and recovered well.

1st – King Ludwig 2nd – Rogertheredneck 3rd – Teifi Valley 4th – Bloomin Tipsy

TEIFI VALLEY (G. Colless) shifted out, making contact with JUBILEE (M. Hellyer) at start.
Leaving the 100m, KING LUDWIG (S. Bogenhuber) shifted out under pressure, obliging its rider to stop riding and straighten.
UTMOST FAITH (M. McKenzie) and BLOOMIN TIPSY (L. Cassidy) raced wide for the majority of the race.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of FRISCO RAIN, trainer D. Brusnahan was unable to offer any tangible explanation. In view of the poor performance, stewards advised Mr Brusnahan that the horse’s nomination would be refused at metropolitan and provincial TAB meetings until such time as the horse’s form improves.

As a result of being 4 wide approaching the 1200m, J. Stanley, rider of PRINCESS VERSUVIA, allowed his mount to improve forward to race outside the leader.
DWAN raced wide for the majority of the race.
When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of PLAYSOVA, R. Hurdle stated that, in his opinion, the mare raced greenly for the majority of the race and when being checked near the 500m, lost its momentum and only found the line fairly. A post race veterinary examination of PLAYSOVA failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

Near the 800m, SILVER TEE improved onto the heels of MORAL STATUS (G. Killen) and had to be steadied.
Approaching the 400m, MAGIC IN ACTION shifted out around the heels of MORAL STATUS, which had a tendency to hang out, and in doing so made contact with SILVER TEE, which in turn shifted out, forcing SMACKER (M. Hellyer) out on to ZAGAMI, which, when racing greenly, shifted out, forcing MOCK ME NOT (J. Taylor) very wide rounding the home turn. ZAGAMI then commenced to hang out until being corrected, and then near the 200m shifted in, having to be checked away from the heels of SMACKER. Trainer J. Caught was advised that a warning would be placed on ZAGAMI regarding its racing manners. L. Cheshire, rider of MAGIC IN ACTION, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
SMACKER raced wide for the majority of the race.
R. McMahon reported that ZAGAMI raced greenly throughout the event. A post race veterinary examination of ZAGAMI failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
When questioned regarding the performance of SMALL CHANGE, which raced ungenerously and was uncompetitive, trainer G. Betros explained that it is now his intention to give the filly a short let up before proceeding with its preparation. A post race veterinary examination of SMALL CHANGE revealed the filly to be shin sore in both forelegs. Mr Betros was advised that he must furnish to the stewards a veterinary clearance for SMALL CHANGE prior to the horse being permitted to race or trial, and further that SMALL CHANGE must trial to the satisfaction of the stewards before being permitted to race again.
J. Taylor, rider of MOCK ME NOT, reported to stewards that after beginning awkwardly, the horse was unable to show any early speed and as a result was obliged to race further back than anticipated, and when he elected to shift wider rounding the home turn was forced very wide on the track, however despite these circumstances, MOCK ME NOT still found the line strongly.
