Race 1: IPSWICH CUP 15TH JUNE CLASS 1 H’CAP – 800M

SOHO NIGHTS (T. Bell) and RUBI OF THE DESERT (S. Lanigan) were slow to begin.

Approaching the 600m SIGNIFICANT CHOICE (L. Morrison), which was endeavouring to obtain a position behind the leaders, blundered and became unbalanced for several strides.

LIKE A BIRD (K. Yoshida) was inclined to lay in throughout.

Race 2: CORONA MARQUEE QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – 800M

ELLIE BELLE (N. Tomizawa) was tightened on jumping between HOT AUNTY (T. Bell) and SUM IT UP (M. Hellyer), which shifted out.

Near the 700m NINETYNINE PERCENT (J. Taylor) blundered and became unbalanced for several strides.

Rounding the home turn SHOVANO (E. Kehoe) shifted out and made contact with FRIENDLY DRAGON (B. Stewart), which was inclined to lay out.

NINETYNINE PERCENT raced ungenerously in the middle stages and was inclined to hang out approaching the home turn.

SPECIAL ROSE (B. Richardson) hung out rounding the home turn.

Shortly after entering the home straight FRIENDLY DRAGON blundered and became unbalanced for several strides.

Approaching the finish line SAPPHIRE BELLE (G. Cooksley), which was inclined to lay in, shifted in and away from FRIENDLY DRAGON and had to be steadied from the heels of COURT COUTURE (M. Cahill).

Race 3: JOHNNIE WALKER EXPERIENCE CLASS 3 H’CAP – 2150M

RUNDLE HEIGHTS (Michael Palmer) was slow to begin.

Approaching the 600m RUNDLE HEIGHTS shifted out from the heels of KABOWD (G. Colless) to improve and in doing so forced RIVER PERFUME (M. Hellyer) wider on the track. RIVER PERFUME then raced wide from that point onwards.

An inquiry will be held at a date and time to be fixed into the reasons for L. Morrison being dislodged from SONIC HILL approaching the winning post due to that rider being transported to hospital for further medical attention. L. Morrison's riding replacements in Races 5, 6 and 7 were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

Race 4: BUNDABERG DISTILLATORIUM MAIDEN H’CAP – 1666M

HOSPITAL NURSE (M. Hellyer) lunged at the gates shortly before the start was effected and as a result lost considerable ground at the start.

Shortly after the start JIMNA (N. Nishio) shifted out and hampered QUICKANDTHEDEAD (M. Cahill).

Approaching the 1200m HAULAGE (Michael Palmer) overraced at the heels of JIMNA and when being steadied shifted wider on the track.

COURTING GRACE (S. Bogenhuber) raced wide for the majority of the event.

Near the 800m HAULAGE improved on to the heels of JIMNA and shifted wider on the track to improve. HAULAGE then raced wide for the majority of the event.

Near the 800m XENA EXPRESS (J. Byrne) shifted out from the heels of COURT KLINGON (R. Wiggins) to improve and in doing so made contact with JIMNA.

COURT KLINGON was held up on the heels of the tiring QUICKANDTHEDEAD from leaving the 800m and was unable to improve until approaching the home turn where COURT KLINGON shifted wider on the track.

When questioned, M. Cahill could offer no tangible explanation for the poor performance of QUICKANDTHEDEAD. A post-race veterinary examination of QUICKANDTHEDEAD revealed no significant findings.

A post-race veterinary examination of JIMNA revealed the gelding to have a laceration to the outside of the near hind cannon consistent with being galloped on.

Race 5: GRANDSTAND PREMIUM MARQUEE CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1400M

Correct weight was delayed to afford apprentice T. Harrison, the rider of 5th placegetter PAPA GEE, the opportunity to view the stewards' patrol footage to determine whether she had grounds to lodge an objection against 4th placegetter HIDDEN DANCER. After viewing the video, apprentice Harrison declined to lodge an objection.

BETTER LATER (A. Pattillo) was tightened shortly after the start between COURT HABIT (J. Johnson) and HIDDEN DANCER (S. Bogenhuber), which shifted out.

STORM MAGIC (R. Goltz) overraced at the heels of KEENINSKA (Matthew Palmer) for some distance leaving the 1000m. SO UNFORGETTABLE (J. Byrne), which was following, had to be steadied and shifted wider on the track and raced ungenerously for a short distance thereafter. SO UNFORGETTABLE then raced wide from this point onwards

SIR BLAZE (S. Drake) raced wide for the majority of the event.

PAPA GEE (T. Harrison) had to be steadied when disappointed for a run to the inside of HIDDEN DANCER near the 500m. PAPA GEE then had difficulty obtaining clear running for the remainder of the event and was inclined to lay in over the final 100m, and went to the line not fully tested by its rider.

Approaching the 100m HIDDEN DANCER was accidentally struck on the head on several occasions by the whip of M. Palmer (KEENINSKA). M. Palmer was advised to show greater care in future.

A. Pattillo (BETTER LATER) lost the use of his offside rein over the final 100m.

Race 6: INFIELD MARQUEE MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M

Trainer G. Heinrich was fined $200 for failing to declare apprentice T. Harrison as the rider of DASHING CHARGER and FINAL IMPRESSION (Race 7).

Connections advised that from the wide barrier it would be the intention to have KARMA FORCE (Michael Palmer) ridden back in the field. KARMA FORCE began well, was allowed to stride forward and lead in the early stages.

The start of this race was delayed when LIKE BRAND NEW (M. Cahill) proved very difficult to load. Trainer S. Iverson was advised that a warning will be placed on the gelding's barrier manners.

BONTEENA (G. Goold), which blundered on jumping away, was further hampered when tightened between LIKE BRAND NEW and SPACE JAM (J. Byrne), both of which shifted ground. Apprentice G. Goold reported on return to scale that after being tightened at the start he was forced to settle further back in the field than he would have liked.

HEXHAM ROSE (J. Kehoe) stood flat-footed at the start and lost considerable ground. HEXHAM ROSE was then uncompetitive throughout the running of the event. Trainer G. Blades advised stewards that he would now send the mare for a spell. Stewards advised Mr Blades that HEXHAM ROSE would be required to trial competitively prior to its next start and that the horse must be restricted to non-TAB venues until such time as its form improves. A post-race veterinary examination of HEXHAM ROSE revealed lameness in the off hind leg. Mr Blades was advised that a veterinary clearance will be required for HEXHAM ROSE prior to its next start.

BELLADONNA DELAGO (J. Taylor) and KING OF JACKS (V. Venkaya) were slow to begin.

LIKE BRAND NEW overraced at the heels of KARMA FORCE leaving the 1000m until a point near the 600m. M. Cahill reported at scale that LIKE BRAND NEW proved very difficult to ride due to the gelding's manners in the early stages of the event today.

MOSITES (R. Goltz) overraced in the middle stages.

Near the 800m BELLADONNA DELAGO had to be steadied when BOLD DRAGON (S. Bogenhuber) shifted in when racing greenly.

Near the 600m MOSITES improved on to the heels of SPACE JAM and shifted out. KING OF JACKS, which was following, was tightened as a result and had to be checked by its rider.

A post-race veterinary examination of MOSITES, which performed below market expectations, revealed no significant abnormalities.

Race 7: XXXX RETREAT CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1200M

Near the 1100m HEBRON ROAD (J. Taylor), which was inclined to hang in, had to be steadied from the heels of SILVERBERG (R. Jamieson), which shifted out slightly.

Near the 800m CONHENRI (T. Wolfgram) had to be steadied from the heels of SNIP 'N' AWAY (A. Holt), which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. Apprentice A. Holt was issued with a reprimand.

Near the 300m IMMOVABLE SITE (R. Goltz) had to be steadied when tightened for room between CONHENRI and HEBRON ROAD, which shifted out slightly.

M. Cahill reported that he was not entirely disappointed with the performance of BOOMALICIOUS today and attributed the performance of the mare to today's soft track conditions and also being first up from a spell. He added that the mare would take benefit from today's performance. A post-race veterinary examination of BOOMALICIOUS revealed no significant abnormalities. A swab sample was taken from BOOMALICIOUS.
