GENERAL

As J. Morris was not riding due to personal reasons, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

Race 1: DAIMLER TRUCKS BRISBANE MAIDEN H’CAP – 800M

Correct weight was delayed when trainer S. Ryan made an application for RADD'S ROSE to be declared a non-runner on the basis that the horse had been denied a fair start. After viewing the patrol footage of the start, stewards found that RADD'S ROSE reared high in its barrier as the start was effected, resulting in jockey A. Allen being dislodged. In the circumstances, RADD'S ROSE was deemed to have been afforded a fair start and was declared a runner. Mr Ryan was advised that he must obtain a further barrier certificate for RADD'S ROSE prior to it being permitted to start again.

BULLCAMP RED – Bumped heavily near the 400m.

CAUSE FOR JOY – Forced wider on the track near the 400m and had to be checked from heels.

LAVRA QUALO – Awkwardly placed at heels for a short distance rounding the home turn. Rider C. Munce could offer no tangible explanation for the performance, except to add that the horse was disappointing overall. Trainer B. Laming was unable to offer any explanation for the performance and undertook to notify stewards should anything come to light in coming days which may have had an effect on the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

VISION AND VALUES – Bumped and checked at the start. Disappointed for a run when entering the home straight and had to be steadied.

Race 2: JOST F&M 0-70 H’CAP – 1350M

DIAPHYSIS – Inclined to shift in under pressure over the concluding stages.

SMALL CHANGE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

Race 3: SCI-FLEET HINO MAIDEN PLATE – 1350M

Whilst the runners were parading behind the barriers it was discovered that a tongue tie had been dislodged. As no rider was able to ascertain from which horse this gear came, and because of the absence of gear records at the start, it was not refitted. Following the race it was ascertained that the displaced tongue tie had in fact belonged to REGATTA PRIDE.

HERE HE IS – Bumped with another runner on a couple of occasions leaving the 200m and then was inclined to hang in for the remainder of the event, proving difficult to ride.

OUR PLAYDOUGH – Bumped shortly after the start and became unbalanced. When racing greenly approaching the 1000m had to be checked, shifted out and lost ground. Became awkward at heels rounding the home turn.
The veterinary surgeon reported that the gelding was galloped on on the near hind leg.

LA BOADICEA – Became awkward at heels approaching the 1000m, shifted out abruptly, blundered and lost ground. Hung out rounding the home turn.

REGATTA PARADE – Raced without tongue tie. Severely inconvenienced approaching the 1000m, had to be checked and shifted wider on the track.

SOLITAIRE'S VISION – Shifted and made contact with another runner shortly after the start.

TERETINA – Bumped with another runner on a couple of occasions leaving the 200m.

Race 4: MACQUARRIE CORPORATION QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1350M

FIRST DRAFT – Shifted out near the 200m and made contact with another runner when attempting to secure clear running.

GO ON RED – Had to be steadied near the 400m.

POLYNIKES – Shifted out under pressure for the majority of the home straight.

SENOR CARLOS – Began awkwardly. Bumped near the 200m.

WE'RE READY – Had to be checked shortly after the start.

KINGHTWICK MANOR– When questioned as to the performance, B. Stewart stated that the filly was inclined to hang out for the majority of the race and as a result proved difficult to ride in the home straight. He added that he was nonetheless disappointed with the overall performance. Trainer B. Dais expressed his disappointment in the performance and undertook to notify stewards should anything come to light in coming days which may have had an effect on the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have lacerations inside both hind legs.

PURELY POETIC – Overraced in the early stages and had to be restrained from heels near the 1100m.

Race 5: NRFA F&M CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M

No racing incidents.

Race 6: WESTERN STAR TRCUKS C,G&E CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M

FUN – Trainer B. Hill advised that the horse will be ridden in a rearward position today, in contrast to its last start. The horse was ridden accordingly.

ASYOUDO – Had to be steadied after improving on to heels near the 400m.

CHIEF LORD – Tightened for room at the start.

SUM IT UP – Raced wide throughout.

CRAIGLEA ART – Tightened for room at the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be short striding in the near foreleg.

Race 7: MOBILE AIR CONDITIONING SERVICES C,G&E 0-70 H’CAP – 1350M

SPURSWOODE – Blundered at the start.

Race 8: BROWN AND HURLEY CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1666M

GLENAROUA, which had become cast in its race day stall, was declared a late scratching at 4.10 pm on veterinary advice.

IRISH MAMBO, which was kicked by another runner behind the barriers, was declared a late scratching at 5.08 pm on veterinary advice. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on IRISH MAMBO be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers:

0 cent in the dollar for the Win #4
8 cents in the dollar for place of winner #4
8 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #1
1 cent in the dollar for 3rd place #2

DANEHILL NATIVE – R. McMahon was reprimanded for using the whip in a forehand manner more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

SHOW HARMONY – Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages and brushed the running rail.

PER MILLE – Trainer R. Heathcote advised that S. Fawke will be instructed to be positive on the horse and to ride it in the first half of the field. The horse raced in a midfield position.

KUTCHER – Lost its near hind plate in running.
