Race 1: Golden Downs Lifestyle Maiden Plate – 1500m
1st – Hey Lorenzo 2nd – Raise The Sound 3rd – Scotians Charm 4th – Kyssaga
At the start, RED OSCAR was tightened for room between JUST MYLES and KYSSAGA, which jumped outwards.
QUIETEN was slow to begin.
HEY LORENZO and SCOTIANS CHARM made contact on jumping away.
Approaching the 1200m, JUST MYLES had to be steadied and lost ground when AS CUSTOMARY had to be eased off the heels of SVENSON and rolled out. Stewards inquired into the incident and as a result jockey B. Johnson, rider of AS CUSTOMARY, was reprimanded under AR137(a).
Race 2: Golden Shores Residential Home Park Class 2 H’cap – 1500m
1st – In Alcatraz 2nd – Honour Your Marks 3rd – Pickastar 4th – Cromla
Stewards questioned apprentice G. Clegg as to his reasons for not being able to claim his full allowance on Raymonds Reward. After hearing his explanation and talking with Trainers Connection, stewards reprimanded G. Clegg under AR92(1).
At the start, IRIS KIAP was slow to begin.
KAADEEMA began awkwardly.
Stewards opened an inquiry into an incident approaching the 1250m in which both jockey J. Hoopert (IRISH KIAP) and apprentice A. Winfield (KAADEEMA) fell. After taking evidence from B. Calkin (PICKASTAR), A. Winfield (KAADEEMA), M. Traecey (PELTING), C. Kearney (CROMLA), M. Manktelow (ON THE TAKE), G. Clegg (RAYMONDS REWARD), C. Eaton (IN ALCATRAZ), O Turpin (HONOUR YOUR MARKS), L. Appo (DUPLICITY) and Z. Landry (LORD SPARROW) and the stewards’ observations, the inquiry was adjourned to a time and date to be fixed as jockey J. Hoopert was transported by ambulance to the Kilcoy Hospital. Riding substitutions were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet. Apprentice A. Winfield was cleared by the medical staff to fulfil the reminder of her rides on the program.
CROMLA raced wide rounding the 1200m turn.
Leaving the 1200m, RAYMONDS REWARD hung out and blundered when being eased form the heels of IN ALCATRAZ.
A veterinary examination of IRIS KIAP and KAADEEMA was ordered by the stewards after the race. Connections of both horses were advised that a veterinary certificate will be required before racing again.
Race 3: Golden Downs Lifestyle Maiden Plate – 1060m
1st – Bold Act 2nd – Stay Scarlett 3rd – Go The Red 4th – Kindred Hope
At the start, ANGELBONENE was tightened for room by CARBONEIGHT and GO THE RED, both of which shifted ground.
AT ARMS LENGTH and SCHOLARLY LASS were both slow to begin.
Approaching the 600m, CARBONEIGHT shifted out, taking GO THE RED wider on the track.
Approaching the 50m, KINDRED HOPE had to be steadied when STAY SCARLETT shifted in under pressure. In this incident, stewards issued a severe reprimand to apprentice O. Turpin and he was reminded of his obligations when his mount begins to shift ground. AR137(a).
Race 4: Burnett To The Beach Class 3 Plate – 1000m
1st – Likazyrtec 2nd – Dusty Zephyr 3rd – Go Gadget 4th – Aimup
CRAIGLEA COWBOY became awkwardly.
Approaching the 1000m, DUSTY ZEPHYR commenced to lay out and had to be steadied.
At the 800m, DUSTY ZEPHYR was placed in restricted racing room by OUR LORD, which rolled in.
LIKAZYRTEC raced wide from the 1000m to the finish.
Race 5: Golden Downs/Golden Shores Kilcoy Cup Class 6 H’cap – 1200m
1st – Slerch 2nd – Paradise Dancer 3rd – Set Apart 4th – Ram Jam Inn
RAM JAM INN and EMPOWERED made contact on jumping away.
STRONG SUIT was slow to begin.
SLERCH raced wide in the middle and latter stages of the race.
Race 6: Golden Shores Class B H’cap – 1200m
1st – Lindmark Looney 2nd – Simple Interest 3rd – Aimup 4th – Fortunatus Fidelis
At the start, FORTUNATUS FIDELIS was slow to begin.
HIDE N WATCH jumped outwards at the start, tightening KALINGA GOLD on to BUT SAY.
Approaching the 1000m, LINDMARK LOONEY rolled in, tightening SIMPLE INTEREST, which was steadied.
At the 450m, SIMPLE INTEREST had to be eased off the heels of HE’S A HARRY.
Race 7: Glolden Downs Over 50s Class B H’cap – 1200m
1st – Awaba Boy 2nd – Kelabu Jutawan 3rd – Ela Mana Dane 4th – Silva Razz
A protest by the 2nd placegetter, KELABU JUTAWAN against AWABA BOY was dismissed and correct weight was given.
SARGE MCGRATH reared as the start was effected, losing ground.
Approaching the 600m, INNOVER improved on to the heels and had to be steadied.
At the 450m, AWAKE BOY had moved in abruptly, forcing HABITUAL DANCER to be steadied.
