RACE 1: MIRIAM GITTINS MAIDEN PLATE - 1500M

LEO JET – Hung out rounding the first turn and then raced wide for the remainder of the race. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse had broken down in the off foreleg. A veterinary clearance will be required prior to the horse racing again. Trainer P. Sexton advised that the gelding will now be retired from racing.

DANISH HOMBRE – Tightened for room over the concluding stages.

CASA CIELLO – Rider G. Goold was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift out over the concluding stages, causing a tightening to another runner.

RACE 2: JOAN STANTON CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1060M

CAMPIONESSA – Examined by the veterinary surgeon at the request of the rider at the barriers and cleared to start. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be making an intermittent respiratory noise. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance, including the results of an endoscopic examination, must be provided prior to its next race start.

LITTLE MISS MOLLY – Slow to begin. Rider A. Taylor reported at scale her mount was inclined to lay out throughout the event.

RACE 3: MAX MILLS QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M

COL ‘N’ LIL – Stewards accepted the explanation put forward by connections for the late scratching at 7.46 pm.

EDE FUSE – Slow to begin. Hampered shortly after the start when tightened for room. Lost near hind plate in running.

TEAR US APART – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

AUDELLA – Rider reported at scale that, in his opinion, the horse would be better suited to a larger track.

RACE 4: HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY IDA MOFFETT MAIDEN H’CAP – 1200M

STORMY SEA – Fractious in the barriers and broke through the gates. The gelding was quickly restrained, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. Shifted in near the 900m, causing another runner to shift in to avoid heels. Apprentice B. Stower was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.

IF IN DOUBT – Steadied near the 900m and shifted in to avoid heels.

SCILLION – Raced in restricted room and had to be steadied near the 900m.

BAY HERO – Apprentice R. Vigar was severely reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in near the 900m when not fully clear, causing tightening to runners to his inside.

JOYOUS HARMONY - Tightened for room and forced inwards near the 900m. Inconvenienced near the 600m. Held up rounding the home turn.

LICENSEE – Hung out rounding the home turn. A warning was placed on the horse regarding its racing manners.

BURNING PAIN – Forced to steady rounding the home turn to avoid heels and was unable to obtain clear running until inside the 100m.

STARLET WARRIOR – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

RACE 5: DICK FERLING CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M

CANID – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

QUEEN’S LEGEND – Slow to begin. Rider T. Treichel was reprimanded for failing to weigh in when required to do so.

CAPTAIN SPUR – Rider reported the gelding was inclined to lay out throughout the race.

RACE 6: KEVIN FERLING MEMORIAL CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1500M

ROYAL TOWN ROAD – AKBAR – Connections of both horses made application to declare their horses non runners due to being denied a fair start. After viewing the patrol films, stewards found that AKBAR was fractious in the gates and jumped with its head in the air, losing ground, and ROYAL TOWN ROAD reared as the start was effected and also lost ground. Stewards deemed therefore that other than for both horses’ own actions, they were afforded a fair start and correct weight was semaphored on the Judge’s placings.
