Jockey O Galea was found guilty under AR85B in that he failed to fulfil his riding engagement at McKinlay Race Club on Saturday 28th June 2003. O Galea was fine $200.
Race 1: Hourglass Jewellers Maiden Plate
Fox Amber was slow to begin.
O Galea the rider of Toe Tapper was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that approaching the 900 metres he allow his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of Idris resulting in that gelding losing its position. O Galea licence to ride in races was suspended for 2 meetings to commence immediately and expire at midnight 30th August 2003.
Race 2: Royal Hotel Class 2 Handicap
Kalinga North jumped away awkwardly hampering Bellen Girl.
Race 3: Edkins, Campbell and Co. Class 4 Handicap
Jockey D Rewald was fined $50 for returning to scale in excess of 1/2kg overweight on Colonel Flyer.
Lord of the Blues(NZ) and Colonel Flyer came together at the start.
Rounding the first turn Devil Action shifted out hampering La Bebe.
Race 4: Carlton & United Open Handicap
Regal Class jumped away awkwardly.
Advancing was slow to begin.
Approaching the 900 metres Telkala was hampered when Desert Phoenix (NZ) shifted out.
Desert Phoenix(NZ) ran off on the home turn forcing Proud Mark and House of Horrors wider.
Jockey J Haitana was charged under AR135(b) in that he restrained Neat ‘N’ Tidy unnecessarily shortly after the start and then retiring the gelding from the race after a short distance. Jockey J Haitana sort an adjournment to obtain further evidence.The inquiry has been adjourned until a date to be fixed.
