WEATHER - OVERCAST TRACK - GOOD
RACE 1: CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1000 METRES
As M. Seagren was to be overweight, E. Kowald was substituted as the rider of LIBBA. Jockey Seagren was fined $50 for being overweight (AR.120(b)).
BRAZEN GREY jumped with its head up and was slow to get into stride.
When questioned Jockey J. Lewis stated that after being slow to begin ANOTHER BLETCH hung out for the majority of the race and in consequence he was unable to apply appropriate pressure to the gelding in the straight. The explanation tendered by Jockey Lewis was accepted.
RACE 2: MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1000 METRES
When Apprentice C. Lee, the declared rider for BIG TIME GIRL, failed to arrive on course, Apprentice L. Abbott was substituted. Apprentice Lee will be asked to explain why he failed to fulfil his engagements.
When the gates opened MISS JESSICA (R. Hall) jumped outwards and made contact with BIG TIME GIRL. Jockey Hall stated that MISS JESSICA raced very greenly throughout the event.
Rounding the home turn BIG TIME GIRL raced wide.
Jockey Ms M. Seagren reported that KUDO ROAD hung out throughout the race.
RACE 3: CLASS 3 HANDICAP - 1000 METRES
WEBERS FIND began awkwardly. SCOTTISH LEGEND was a little slow to leave the barriers.
RACE 4: CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1000 METRES
When the gates opened KEPPEL LAIR began awkwardly and shifted out.
RACE 5: CLASS 6 HANDICAP MEMORIAL BRACELET - 1200 METRES
The race book contained an incorrect statement as to the Class of the race, and a public announcement was made accordingly.
There were no racing incidents.
RACE 6: CLASS 4 HANDICAP - 1200 METRES
As Apprentice C. Lee had not arrived on course, App. L. Abbott was substituted as the rider of POLISH COUNT.
When the gates opened ILLUMINANT shifted inward and contacted WOODSLOT.
Shortly after the start IRISH REIGN drifted in.
RACE 7: CLASS 6 HANDICAP - 1000 METRES
BROTHER was slow to begin. In the straight NAJEEB shifted in under pressure.
ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.
